Summary: Good, but it was missing something
Review: I had to go see this movie with one of my younger relations. First let me just say that the cartoon at the begining is outstanding, I have never seen a theater of adults laugh so loud.

Then there was the movie this was basically a unique 250 million dollar PSA telling your children not to be afriad of the dark. Or rather thats what it seems like on the surface. I was very surpised to find myself laughing along with the rest of the kids.

The only thing odd about this movie was that I didn't walk away with the same satisfied feeling that I had after Toy Story. I don't know mabe it was the lenth of the movie or something.

Summary: Should become a classic
Review: Pixar works hard to unite top-drawer technique with an excellent story, and this work pays off handsomely in Monsters, Inc. The world in which Monstropolis is located is beautifully realized, first logically, then visually - to have one component without the other would lead to failure. But even with a perfect alternate reality, the film would still fail if we didn't completely believe in the characters. I have babysat for some of the "Boos" of this world, and I had always suspected that Sully and Mike used to sneak out of my closet door, crawl under the bed, and make weird noises, now I know that I was right.

Summary: Now Open This Magic Door! Another Masterpiece from Pixar
Review: Another great achievement from Pixar, "Monsters, Inc." provides whatever you want in cinema -- laugh, thrill, and even bit of tears. And the most amazing thing is, those emotions are created by those "scary" monsters!

Good twist of our accepted concepts about traditional storytelling seems in vogue in Hollywood, and "Shrek" did it well with an unconventional green monster hero and a more unconventional princess heroine (love her). Then, came Sully and Mike, a pair of adorable monsters working at Monsters, Inc., getting paid by scaring the kids behind the closet door so as to collect the energy generated by poor kids' scream. With this clever switch of viewpoint, we are invited to the alternate world of monsters, where all those colorfully "strange" craetures lead their life, but somehow we feel at home. There are commercials on TV; there is an energy crisis; and at company you meet a beautiful receptionist in "Ally McBeal" fashion. And if you like, you can have a date with her at sushi bar!

But Pixar gives another twist, which is a pretty girl called "Boo" who manages to come into this worls, and scares those monsters to death because they believe humans are lethal, like virus! So, Mike and Sully, thinking they're responsible for panic in the city, desperately try to conceal the girl from other monsters, but you know, kids have a habit of hiding in unexpected places, and they're very good at them. Imagine those monster's plight. But it is just the beginning of an adventure of the three, of which joyful and thrilling experinece makes you laugh and grabs your heart.

No additional comments should be added. Just look at the film, which keeps on rolling without making one single wrong move. Little girl Boo always steals your eyes, uttering kid's favorite phrase "kitty" (and she can speak that only), but moviemakers wisely refuse to rely on the kid's cute gestures to draw our hearts into the story. Pixar, as they did in the excellent "Toy Story 2," makes a perfect allegorical story about being a child and growing up, by showing that because Boo comes from the other side of the door, she must someday go back, so as to part from the monsters she loves forever. Yes, kids will be someday adults, parting those innocent dreams and creatures they dreamed of, and that's the most moving part of the film to adult audience, perhaps moving some of them to tears.

Voices are supplied perfectly from first-rate actors whose established persona match those monster characters -- Goodman & Crystal is itself worthy of specail mention, but my favorite is sexy Jennifer Tilly, whose attractive voice cannot be mistaken. As those facts show you, the film is made not only for kids but for adults, even for those who never thought of watching animated films until now. Don't miss the chance because "Monsters, Inc." is an incredibly well-crafted, enjoyable, and most of all, touching film you rarely see these days. Enjoy it.

Summary: Good movie; entertaining
Review: Monsters Inc. was a movie I had waited a long time to see. I must say it did not really live up to my expectations. It is all about Sulley, an average monster-turned-legend because of his amazing scaring ability. He comes across a door with a human child in it. He is very scared at first, but soon he and Boo (the kid) build a loving relationship. In his quest to send her back home, he encounters danger, betrayel and friendship. This is a sweet movie, but not too good.

Summary: Perfect! Perfect! Perfect!
Review: My husband, my 4 year old daughter and I went to see Monsters, Inc. and we ALL loved it. Pixar has really outdone itself. This movie had all of the right messages in it: 1) If you have a job to do, do it well. 2) Always stand up for what is right. 3) Help your friends when they need it. 4) It doesn't matter what a person looks like or what you've been told about them, get to know them yourself and make up your own mind. 5) Do not be afraid to speak up when you see something wrong. 6) Laughing is always better than crying. and 7) People are more powerful when they are happy.

Summary: Great fun!
Review: One of the best of the Pixar animated films yet! "Monsters, Inc" is funny both for kids and adults.

Being a computer animation buff since the early days (TRON, Liquid TV, etc.) I was blown away by some of the visuals in this film. Sully's hair is the most realistic to date in CG films. The scene in the snowstorm blew my mind! The lighting, Sully's hair blowing everywhere, etc. was a real visual treat. The rendering of water was also the most realistic I have seen to date. "Renderman", the software Pixar uses to render the 3D animations has to be one of the greatest inovations in movie making in 20 years. Can't wait to see what they come up with next.

Summary: greatest movie ever!!!!
Review: It's better than shrek but it's a little like shrek because Sulley and boo play hide and seek in a bathroom,
and one monster loses his fur.
Those are the only bad things i can remember.
and i DON'T like randall ever!
and waternoose turned bad too.
But lately disney had one person that didn't seem
too bad and another that was bad at the beginning.
So that's is what i thought,
bye.

Summary: A Fun Movie
Review: "Monsters Inc." is a movie that I would have never seen if I wasn't dragged to it. From the first few minutes of this film I was captivated and immediately knew that it would be a classic. This is easily the best animated film of 2001 and is so good that it can be compared to some live action movies.

The plot of this Pixar animation is very fun. In a world where monsters live their lives just like humans do here on Earth, they get their energy sources in a very peculiar fashion. When it is nighttime the monsters go into these portal type things and sneak into childrens' rooms through their closets. When the child screams, that is just a fraction of the monsters' energy. But when a little girl comes into the monsters' world, Mike and Sulley, the two main characters, are in a panic to get the girl back. Thus is one of the funniest animations that has ever come out of the Pixar Studios.

The voices, music, and computer animation that went into the making of this film were superb. Voices such as John Goodman's and Billy Crystal's will make you smile. The musical score is wonderful and makes this film even more enjoyable. As usual with all Pixar films the plot is very good and has its meanings.

This is definitely worth buying when it comes out in September. Whether or not you have seen this film in the theaters this is a DVD must have. I strongly recommend this film to anybody that likes the work of Pixar Studios and/or is looking for a feel good comedy. This is a film that will be a classic and that should not be missed.

Happy Viewing!
