Summary: Funny, tender and enjoyable for the whole family
Review: This is a great family film, regardless of whether or not you celebrate Halloween. This is such a clever film, terrific claymation meets terrrific story. Jack (o' Lantern) helps to save Santa Claus (or as they would say, "Sandy Claws") with his trusty ghost-dog, Zero.

A sweet comedy filled with rich imagery and great visual metaphors enjoyable for children and adults. A real thinking film, that's touching and adorable. I highly recommend this film.

Summary: Wonderful- Rather Un-Tim Burton
Review: This is a great film for kids and adults alike, a great plot, great animation, and great acting. I highly recommend this movie for any fan of animation. The reason I say that this film is Rather Un-Tim Burton is because of the lack of gore. But for younger viewers that's a good thing, I guess. This film may scare really little kids, cause a lot of the characters are, well, dead, to put it frankly. But for anyone who loves animation, Tim Burton, or Romance (don't ask, just watch the movie,) this is the film for you!

Summary: A great Halloween-Christmas movie!
Review: When I first saw this movie I was only 10 years-old and I though it was kind of weird. Now that I'm 17 years-old I think I understand it and like it more! It kind of scared when I was 10, but now its such a cute movie!

Summary: Tim Burton's best work!
Review: I incredibly enjoyed this movie. Although Tim Burton did notdirect it, I still consider it his best work as well as the best workof composer Danny Elfman. If you are a Burton fan and you havn't seen The Nightmare Before Christmas, BUY IT NOW! And if you arn't a Burton fan, buy it anyway! It is the most brilliant animated film since Fantasia. END

Summary: I LOVE THIS MOVIE!
Review: I first saw this when it hit theaters, and instantly fell in love with this movie. What an original idea! Tim Burton his a genius. His movies are fresh and new, and he always adds something clever to them all. Sleepy Hollow was phenomenal! I am 22 now, and still watch this movie with my daughter. Though, she is only 3 months old, and doesn't know what is going on. I still enjoy it ever time I watch it! I really wish there had been some kind of sequel to this masterpeice. Truly a classic. Right up there with Bambi, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and all the other Disney movies that are considered Classic...

Check this movie out!

Summary: There's nothing like it; a truly unique vision.
Review: When I think of this picture, I am amazed that it was ever made, but I am so happy that it was. It doesn't adhere to the conventions of other animated features in its subject matter and style(perhaps with the exception of its musical narrative.) It is an imaginative, entertaining piece of cinematic genius. I watch it every so often just to refresh it in my mind. It amazes me every time. The music is mesmerizing and fits the mood and feel of the film perfectly. I'd be interested in hearing why people think it is violent. Maybe some cannot justify the dark and creepy undertones of its characters, don't possess the vocabulary to put it into words, and can only express their disapproval by tagging it as 'violent', the worst thing that can be said of an animated feature. This categorization completely misses the point of the film's unique appeal. At the core of the story is an endearing character, a pillar of his community, who is in search of a feeling to break him out of his rut. I think we all can identify with that emotion at some point. There should be more films of this quality made.

Summary: A big disappointment.
Review: What a major disappointment for all true stop-motion animation fans. I actually feel sorry for those who unknowingly call this a "masterpiece", or a "true classic"; they must be pretty desperate. -But it's no wonder, really. If you've grown up with mostly cartoons and Disney movies, something "different" like this must seem like a revelation. -Come on, have you forgotten Ray Harryhausen or George Pal and his Puppetoons ?. Or people like the Quay Brothers, Jiri Trnka, Karel Zeman, Jan Svankmejer, etc., etc., etc. -They're the true masters; able to be innovative, atmospheric and scary. "T.N.B.C." lack all these important ingredients. But the biggest disappointment of all is the animation itself. The movie may look slick, perfect and sophisticated (and I'm sure they spent a million hours on it), but it's too elaborate for its own good. I know stop-motion is all about detail, but if you spend too much time making the movements of the puppets quick and realistic you lose that special kind of magic so essential to this wonderful art-form. In my opinion stop-motion is supposed to be rather slow and jerky looking - that's the very charm of it, for Christ sake !. Not necessarily dark and quirky, but it's at its otherworldly best when the execution of it is kept simple and primitive. Check out some old classic fairytales Czech-style for much more effective examples. I really don't know why they bothered, Burton & Co. -They might as well have used computers, because CGI is almost what it feels (and looks) like to me. Stop-motion is after all an oldfashioned kind of animation, and just about the only place left where ones fantasy can truly flourish and your patience (brain, really) is challenged. Unlike CGI, it forces you to use you imagination still, and not disconnect it. Concentration, please !.

Summary: Pop fairytale, cult clasic, and timeless masterpiece
Review: If you are a fan of Danny Elfman, or Tim Burtin, you need to see this film. As a child, I looked forward to those now clasic animated christmas movies from the 50's and 60's, but I always thought they were a little too inocent. Nightmare Before Christmas is any childs fantasy brought to life, as well as an homage to those great films. Frame after frame, Burtin paints a wonderfully macabre landscape with characters who are spooky as they are lovable. Add the unforgettable music and songs of Danny Elfman, and you have a film that will never grow old. Do yourself a favor, add this one to your collection.
