Summary: Very disappointing
Review: Alright, before I start reviewing, I have a confession to make. I am not the parent of a preschooler, I don't run a daycare, and there are no preschoolers in my house. I am writing this review as a vintage Sesame Street fan, not a parent.

Okay, now just because I'm not a parent doesn't mean I don't remember being a preschooler. That's why I like the videos; they usually have great segments that I remember from my childhood.

This is why I was so disappointed with "The Alphabet Jungle Game." The box advertised "The best of Sesame Street's classic cartoon segments." Classic? You call a segment that just says "L-Laugh," classic?! Whoever put together this video obviously did NO research in Sesame Street's archives.

Believe me, I can think of TONS of cartoon segments that would be better for this video. What about the wonderful "Capital I" ("We all live in a Capital I, in the middle of the desert, in the center of the sky"), or the almost poetic "Lowercase n" ("Lowercase n, standing on a hill, the wind is very still for the lowercase n"), or the creative "Vase in the Vat" ("This is the VASE that I'll put in this VAT, away from the VILLIAN in the Panama Hat)?

Now I know it's been a long time since I was a preschooler, but I think I would probobly lose interest in this video, especially since it's packed with segments I would already see every day on the show. Listen up, Sesame Street. Today's preschoolers know nothing about 90% of the show's greatest segments. I think the videos should be focused on giving them something a little different from what they usually see. Let them get a taste of some of the REAL classics.

Summary: Best of Sesame Street's Alphabet Videos
Review: As a parent, I can say that we own or have seen most of Sesame Street's videos that focus on teaching the alphabet, and this is by far the best one. Elmo, Telly, and Zoe are prominently featured, but the shining stars of this video are the classic alphabet cartoons that have mesmerized my 2 year old!

As a first grade teacher, I have found this to be a great video to send home with students that needs extra alphabet reinforcement (very popular with English Language Learners!).

So, if you are a pre-school parent who is looking to give your little one a head start on the alphabet, search no further. I can not recommend this video more highly to you.

Summary: Awesome in helping kids learn the alphabet!
Review: I decided to finally write a review on this dvd because my first child who is now almost 4 has watched this since he was about 14 months old and he still loves it! Now my second child loves it just as much and already knows how to say all of her letters at 17 months old! I can't say enough good things about it. It has a great beat to it that my kids can't resist dancing too and watch out because when letter D comes up they absolutetly go nuts dancing! I just think it's been so helpful in teaching them their abc's and wanted to finally write a review. I would definitely recommend this dvd.

Summary: Very disappointing
Review: I expected much more from a Sesame Street video. Sesame street characters are rarely shown. Much of it is just cartoons - and some not so pleasant. The songs and jungle scenes are not cheerful youthful songs that you would expect. I really wanted it to reinforce the letters I've been working on teaching my 2 year old - but it just is not fun to watch.

Summary: Nothing Special
Review: I give this video (dvd) 3 stars based on its inferior audio quality and on the fact that the alphabet is repeated from beginning to end no more than 3 times throughout the entire video. My two year old daughter gives it a 20 out of 26 based on the fact that she said "no my watch that" on six of the 26 letters. Not bad, but there must be better alphabet videos out there.

Summary: Disappointed
Review: I grew up watching Sesame Street and when I saw this video, I thought it would be somewhat like the Sesame Street of old. It wasn't. Some of the characters were present, but not in the same spirit of the Sesame Street I grew up with.

Summary: A bit disapointed
Review: I was sad to see a lack of sesame street characters in this video. My child loves sesame street, but this just doesn't hold his attention like the t.v. show.

Summary: disappointed in video
Review: I watched this video with my 18 month old and it was horrible. She also loves Sesame Street and there was a lack of the characters in this video. It didn't keep her attention or mine. It drove me nuts just to sit there and watch it hoping it would get better. Save your money and don't buy it!!!
