Summary: One Of The Best Deals Out There
Review: This DVD Player is definately a great buy for the price. It is simple to operate, has a decent remote, and has great picture and sound compared to a VCR. Setup was simple and straightforward. I shopped around for a while and this Philips was an easy choice. It does everything you would ever need it to do with simplicity.

Summary: You Get What You Pay For
Review: This is a good BASIC DVD player. Some people have complained about the load times, but I did not see this as a problem. The picture, sound and ease in hooking it up were selling points. Don't expect it to be top-of-the-line, and you won't be let down.

Summary: A great player!
Review: This is a very nice quality machine for the price. Maybe it doesn't have all the whistles and bells you would ever want, but it is a great player nevertheless. You won't be disappointed with this one. It is very reliable, and if you are new to the DVD world (as I was when I bought this player) you will be happy with how simple it is to set up and use. Enjoy!

Summary: Excellent!
Review: this is my first DVD player and it is truly wonderful. I did not have the proper output on my TV. Using a Magnavox RF modulator did the trick and it works like a charm! Easy to use and set up, this is ideal for the first time DVD buyer. It provides easy to understand instructions and set-up is a breeze, even if you have to use a modulator. Excellent performance and highly recommended for superior sound and picture options.

Summary: Returned this Item.
Review: This was a reasonable DVD player. The video quality was worse than other DVD players, but the audio was excellent. I was most troubled by the unusually long loading time for the DVD's. The remote control was somewhat awkward as well.

Summary: Very Disappointing
Review: This was my first DVD player. I was very disappointed in it. The remote is difficult to use, and often several attempts are required to get the player to do what it is supposed to do. There is no zoom, and switching from one format to another is complicated. Again, several attempts are often required to get it to switch from one format to another. Although the still feature can be used to create slow motion by repeated pressing, this does not make up for the fact that there is no separate slow-motion feature. The eject action is erratic, and the tray cannot be closed from the remote. I have had this player less than a month, and I am now buying another one because I am so dissatisfied with it.

Summary: Ideal
Review: This was the first DVD player I bought....and I have no complaints. I was immediately blown away by the video and sound quality improvements over the VCR.

The only problem I had was related to the fact that my television did not have the neccesary line inputs to hook this bad boy up. I had to spend an extra $30 after the fact to get it to play certain videos without the copyright protection of my vcr distorting the visual.

I would VERY much recommend this item. For the price and DVD quality over a VCR, you can't beat it.
