Summary: H02 error again!
Review: It was a great player.
But once it cannot work at all, then it'll never be a good one.

Got H02 error after one year I bought this dvd player.
Fixed this problem by the way told by other users, tapping the while circle while you open the cover.
Then it worked well as before for a while.
But recently, about months later, the problem happened again.

I think it's way enough ... I'm gonna get another new one.

Summary: Its "alright" for the money
Review: Let's face it. 200 bucks for a CDR capable DVD player is pretty good. The plus is that its from Panasonic. My qualms with the player is that it feels like its been built kinda cheap. The MP3 player that is built-in is the worst you'll probably ever find. If you have any MP3s that are of substandard quality i.e. <128 kbps, you'll hear half music, half static and interference. YOu can't catalog the files. They're just listed as numbers 1-999. The picture quality of course is great. DVD quality video from Panasonic will always be of high quality. The shortcomings of this dvd player is that the peripherals basically suck in comparison with something you'd really want. The remote is ok. I would recommend this to anyone who has a little flexibility in their Home Theater Budget, but if you have the wallet, go on to something better.

Summary: eh....
Review: O.K. The video is great and the audio's superior. But the reason I bought this player is for MP3- that's what really distinguishes it from other products in it's price range. And it does play MP3's <sometimes> in the recorded track order. No program, no shuffle, no random- just play. So you can have a cd with 140 songs on it and listen to the same ones in the same order over and over... sorry Panasonic- major development oversight. all in all, not much better than an Apex, but a bit more expensive. btw, it was really acting up for about a half hour when i first got it <making weird noises- gliching and such> it's doing fine now though.

Summary: excellent player for the money
Review: Panasonic DVD-RV30 (older model w/o MP3 capability) was rated excellent for picture quality in the Consumer Report magazine.I found that is true also for this RV31 (silver) model. Unlike my older JVC dvd player, this player allows me to set different black level (light and darker); it allows users to set contrast, brightness, sharpness, color, and tint--features used to be only available in more expensive players. The picture quality, of course, is outstanding. I could notice more details in the black/dark areas when I set the brightness a little higher than factory preset. Among the 3 dvd players I've owned, I find this RV31 to have the best (user-friendly) on-screen menu. This player, however, lacks a screen saver to prevent phospher burn-in. In addition, it lacks a coaxial digital output. It comes with optical output, and of course also regular (a/v) rca outputs. It has component video output as well. The remote control is fine. I didn't think the keys are too small; however,it is not a universal remote. MP3 player, honestly, works flawlessly. I expected that it wasn't going to work based on other reviews. To my surprise, the player was able to read and play all my tracks on every MP3 cd-r and CD-RWs I have. It could be that I have saved all my music files in bit rate of 128 or higher. It does say in the manual that if the bit rate is 96 or lower, it may have problem reading the files. All in all, I was very happy to have purchased this player. I have played DVDs, MP3s and my Hong Kong VCDs without running into any problems. I also like the silver finish (you can purchase in black, as well.)

Summary: Great DVD player for the money
Review: The picture output using component connections is absolutely superb. If you can live with 2 channel sound and a jack for for a sub-woofer, you won't find a better player for the money.

Summary: Best value I found
Review: This DVD player has all the features you would normally want at a great price. The quality of the picture is great and it's easy to use and set up. I recommend you use the S-VHS cable.

Summary: very good dvd player, but...
Review: This DVD player has awesome sound and video quality for the DVD feature, but I use it more for VCDs and MP3s than DVDs. The uncomfortable features in this DVD player are: the menu is very hard to read on the screen and it is very small. The MP3 features is very sloppy, no on-screen display for mp3 songs. I saw a Apex AD-1500 DVD Player has better features than this DVD Player. You can't go directly into the movies by specifying the time, e.g. "13:15" into the movie. For VCD movies, it cuts off the screens of the movie on the bottom and on both sides. Thus, this DVD Player makes me very uncomfortable. I will return this DVD Player.
