Summary: Great Product for the price
Review: I bought this product about three months ago. I have had no problem with it so far. Average usage is about 1 dvd per day. For the price I think is a great product from panasonic, picture is wonderful, sound is also great. The mp3 playback is second to none, even better than some of the higher end panasonic dvd players. Would recommend to anyone just buying their first dvd player. GREAT BUY.

Summary: I have had two shipping delays ... Shipping has arrived
Review: ...This is my first DVD player and I did not shop around at a store or anything, so I hardly knew what to expect. The most satisfying thing I have found in this unit regards one of my concerns about playing DVDs. I always liked the idea that I could pull a rented VHS tape out at any time and pop it back in to start playing right where I left it. This is just natural for a tape cartridge type system, but doesn't naturally occur in a DVD. But this unit has a "position memory" feature. Just hit the "position memory" button on the remote and you can even turn it off and when you put the DVD back in and hit play when it prompts you to, you are back where you left it. Very nice.

I am not so sure about the sound. It seems as though the sound on my VCR is a little louder, but I am not using the optical hook up and maybe that is where the unit has commited its high fidelity features. It's not bad though and good enough for me. I am using the S video hookup and that seems to work pretty well as near as I can tell.

I have experienced a few brief frame freezes and pixelations, but I am ready to be convinced that it is the disk that has the problem and my viewing experience is still better then it ever was with VHS. For the price, DVD is the way to go. I remember when it cost me 325$ US to get a Mono audio two head JVC VHS unit.

Summary: What a great present!
Review: I'm the last one in my family to get a DVD player (Merry Christmas to me!), and I wonder now why I waited to long. The sound, even on my smallish Zenith TV, is wonderful. Picture is also great, and it's nice to finally be able to enjoy all the extras that are on your average DVD. It has so many features that I'm still learning how to use them all.

Summary: Another winning Panasonic DVD player.
Review: I already own a Panasonic RV-30 which has performed flawlessly. I didn't hesitate to buy the RV-32 which has more features. Amazon[.com] had a great price and Panasonic offered a $ 20 rebate. I have this hooked up to a 27 inch flat screen TV using high quality component cables. The DVD picture is incredibly sharp. The Advanced Surround Sound really helps the sound quality without separate amp and speakers. The shape of the remote for the RV-30 fits the hand better than this remote which has sharper edges. This DVD player is a great value considering the features, price and performance.

Summary: Why be Plain?
Review: In no way do I dare say that it is a waste of money...

I first made a review for this emphasizing that it lacked oomph
in comparison to the toshiba sd2805...well I was wrong...it just so happened that I wasnt able to connect the subout properly to my receiver...so there was the missing oomph...

Well I wanted to give this to my parents coz the controls arent intimidating...and it has all the functions one needs to play dvds, cds and vcds...I would have bought another toshiba but it seemed like a risk since there were a good many reviews of it dying...seems like this one didnt have any such problem... so I bought this one not worrying that it will one day just die...but still toshiba is a very strong brand...to tell you honestly first time I bought a dvd player it was a toshiba sd2805 and it was defective...being the stubborn head that I am I gave it back (within the 30 day period lucky me!!!!) AND got the same toshiba sd2805!!!...Im just hoping it wont die...thats the feeling you dont want to have when you buy something...so if you do get a chance to compare BUY THIS ONE if your the "SURE BUY, NO REGRETS" type of buyer...highly recommended...5 stars if only it was a 5 disc carousel but for the price and quality anyways it cant be beat!!!

Summary: Panasonic DVD-RV32S
Review: The Panasonic RV32S and RV32K are the same machines except for the color of the enclosure. The S model is silver, and the K model is black.

I only demoed this unit at a local electronics store and this player blew away many other machines that were priced... more than this one. I compared this machine to a Toshiba 2500 (I think) and a couple others for which I forget the makes and models.

It has the ability to play back DVDs, VCDs, MP3s and audio CDs. It can read off regular pressed DVDs and CDs, along with CD-Rs and CD-RW discs. The latter two are useful for making your own discs with a CD recorder drive on your computer, or a standalone unit.

VCD video quality is similar to that of VHS tapes, but they are popular in Asia and are region free. Asia also seems to release many US films on VCD before they are released in the US on DVD. I have seen legitamate copies with Chinese subtitles.

The DVD video quality on most machines I tried that day were all the same. VCD was a bit different, however there were still little discrepancies between different units. However, what really blew me away about this machine was the audio quality. When I played back music, whether on DVD, VCD, MP3, or CD-Audio, the RV32 shined over all the other units.

The sound coming from this machine seemed to be brighter and have a wider frequency range. The other machines I tried seemed to have a smaller range of frequencies which they could produce. It seemed that the same notes on other machines were either softer or not there. It's like comparing sound from a radio FM source to a CD-Audio source. It's not that much difference, but it was very apparent.

The bad thing is that few stores have DVD machines properly hooked up for you to demo them to their full potential. The store I went to had this machine connected to a 50" plasma TV, and a very good 5.1 sound system. The other store I visited while DVD shopping was large chain store. They had the players on a shelf, but not hooked up in any way. The employees were even hesitant to hook it up for me to demo. With some coaxing, they finally hooked it up for me, but unfortunately it was to a 20" television. Needless to say, I walked out of there.

Summary: A++++++++++
Review: This is the best DVD player ever. This DVD player plays DVD-Video, DVD-R, Video CD, CD, CD-R/RW and MP3s with great quality and you cannot beat the price. The single best feature is the motherboard. If you take this DVD player apart you can rewire it to play DVDs and make sausage at the same time. I now can play my David Hasselmuffin CDs or watch DVDs while I make homemade sausage. I have made pork and chicken sausage (sweet and spicy) during the double disc DVD of ET. I amazed my friends and family last superbowl because during halftime we were listening to CDs and making sausage. Great DVD player and even better sausage maker!

Summary: Excellent machine, great value
Review: I've always liked Panasonic DVD players. They are high-quality, easy to use, and always works well, even with dirty DVD discs. The one thing I truly love about Panasonic players is their smooth scan feature: when you fast forward or rewind (there are 4 or 5 speeds), the motion picture is smooth at low speeds and skim gracefully at high speeds. Other players usually "stutter," but not with Panasonic. The RV32S is another solid model at a great price. Highly recommended.

Summary: Excellent DVD player
Review: This DVD player is amazing, the picture quality is better than most machines 5 times the price. It's solid, looks expensive and it's price is happily not. Buy this if you like movies, or buy a more expensive unknown brand of you don't really want to see great films the way they should look. This machine does it all!

Summary: Outstanding!
Review: I bought the Panasonic RV32S last year to replace my malfunctioning SONY, and I have been VERY impressed. Sure, the RV32S lacks progressive scan and the remote feels a bit cheap, but it'll play ANYTHING; cd, cd-r, dvd-r, dvd, and mp3. Superb picture quality, great sound, and tons of on-screen features! No skipping, no errors, no hesitation...just flawless performance -- at half the price of the horrible SONY it replaced. Outstanding! If you can live without progressive scan and you're looking for an excellent value, buy the Panasonic!
