Toshiba SD-P1000 Portable DVD Player

Review: Yeah, it's got a great picture. It drives us nuts when trying to travel with it (which WAS the idea behind a portable). If you leave the large battery connected, it WILL come on accidently; you must use the remote to do almost anything; the battery is good for one complete movie, period; there is NO DC power cord (car adaptor) available; I still haven't been able to buy a spare battery; if and when a battery is availble, I'm sure it will be expensive and similarly short-lived. Here's the worst part....I bought this unit in January, willing to pay high dollars for the best, and willing to wait for support products...seven months later, repeated emails to Toshiba have resulted in NO assitance, and obviously no concern. This is a company that brought out a technically advanced, but ill-conceived product, and is willing to let us pay the price. Never again.
