Summary: The most temperamental machine I own
Review: This machine has a lousier temper than me. It plays discs when it feels like it, and when it doesn't, it'll make your life miserable, making coffee grinder noises and refusing to eject the disc even after you disconnect the player.
This player will play a disc 3/4's of the way through, and then decide it doesn't want to work anymore! If I didn't own a DVD-playing iMac, I'd never get to the end of some of these movies.
This machine is so awful I've rethought the importance of VHS tapes.

Summary: Great at first, but now...?
Review: This machine ran fine for a while then we started having problems with it skipping repeatedly and freezing. You can't get the disk out when it has frozen...you have to wait for it to finish "thinking" and that is so annoying! Some days, it works fine, then a rash of skipping and freezing again. Plus, it tends to overheat..the disks would come out very, very warm. Right now, it plays the disk, but there is no sound, so the kids are having to watch their movies on the computer DVD-rom. I think my husband would agree, this player doesn't hold up at all.

Summary: It's a good, inexpensive DVD player with few frills
Review: When I was searching for info on DVD players I found a few reviews on other web-sites from consumers who had this DVD player and complained that it skipped. Therefore, I bought it with the understanding that it might not met my needs. It has performed wodnerfully. I have not experienced any skipping or other problems with the player. With that said it is a very basic DVD player. There aren't any fancy frills on it, but I wasn't really looking for any. I wanted something that was easy to use, had a component video and audio output, and would do a reliable job of playing my favorite movies. The 621 does that at a price that I liked.
