Review: This was my 1st DVD player. I got it for Christmas. My TV did not have the Red, White, and Yellow plugs in the back of my TV so I had to go to Radioshack and buy an RF Modulator for 30 dollars. But once installed, the DVD's play great. The remote is universal and works on the Sanyo TV I use it on. I prefer widescreen DVD's and this plays both very well. My CD's and CD-R's play great on here also! No problems here!

Review: this xmas was the breakout season for getting dvd players. my purchase was based on sound & vision magazine review. so far, the player's performance has been excellent. no skips or freezes so far. the best video is with the component inputs, but the cable prices are very high. also with wide screen versions of most dvds, it's better to have a big screen tv. my 20 inch jvc has large black bands above and below the picture and i would prefer a full screen version. be sure to read the manual for the player; don't assume it' just enter and play. sometimes you have to set the audio on some dvds. i have also rented several dvds with no problem, but you'll find yourself buying a lot if you're not careful. that's how good dvd is.

Summary: Too early to tell?
Review: Well, I'm taking it back to exchange it tomorrow... It's messing up on discs, although once it reads one properly and starts playing it, it's okay. And the component video output is clearly damaged, all my movies are in blue!
Disappointing at first, but I'm willing to give it a second chance...

Summary: Not what its cracked up to be...
Review: When this player actually PLAYED DVD's, and CD's it did a nice job. However, the playing part was where this player had most of its difficulties. Often, i would put in a homemade CDR, and it would start playing in the middle of the track. I would have to take out the disc, turn off the player, and reinsert the disc until it decided to play the tracks from the beginning. It must be the CD's i thought. So i played the discs that were having trouble on my Toshiba SD 2700, and suprise ,suprise, no such problems. DVD's were not much better. The discs would often skip annoyingly, and once again i would have to remove the disc, turn off the player, and reinsert the disc. I dont know if i just got a dud player, but i'll tell you one thing: i will no longer by no-name company's product for the sake of saving a few dollars. I will be sticking to the Toshibas, Pioneers, Sony's and Panasonics.
