Summary: OVERLY HYPED PRODUCT.
Review: Reading the customer and trade reviews i was expecting a cutting edge product but what i instead received was a a product with useless features and outdated technology. For starters the main engine used for the DVD player is 5 times slower than my Sony DVD which was $150 cheaper and on some very demanding scenes there is a lot of pixelisation. The remote is a total joke because it takes 2 seconds for a command to go into effect and feels unituitive and the buttons are like a childs first computer. As far as the " special features",such as being able to zoom in on a certain area it is not available on all DVD s and even on DVDs with this feature it is very time consuming and complicated to work. The so called abillity to play games is a total joke because the graphics are comparable to the first Sega Genesis and the controller suffers fron the same problems as the remote, besides who would want to spend $40 to $50 dollars on outdated games you played 5 yrs ago. There a thousand more gripes but i do not have time,i would have retuned the product after 2 days, yes i hated it after such a short time, but i do not have the time to disconnect from my system and pay $40 for insured delivery to Amazon.

Summary: Samsung DVDN2000's Audio, Features and Service FAIL!!
Review: The DVD player WILL NOT play audio in bitstream mode during menu's, deleted scenes and special features. This is the biggest problem I have encountered, making this DVD player worthless to anyone with a surround sound system using Fibre-Optic or Digital Co-axial connections. The Snapshot mode does not save changes, as advertised. The Angle view does not update the thumbnails, as advertised. Of the 100 DVD's I own, not one of them will play audio during Analog 2X Scan Audio mode, as advertised. Samsung's service Rep's do not return calls or e-mails and the Authorized service center told me they can't fix it, "It's not broken, that's how it's designed."

Summary: Perfect for us
Review: We owned neither a video game player nor a DVD player before this; now we have both! I seriously doubt the number of Nuon game titles will come close to SPS or Nintendo, but my 5 & 3 year olds don't mind.

We've also had two Samsung VHS players and a Samsung TV, and have been very happy with the quality and reliability of these units.

Summary: NUON is Here...
Review: What you have here is a hybrid machine of sorts, featuring a great DVD player along with the NUON gaming platform. DVD features include 20x Zoom, 9 frame strobe, multiangle, SmartMatrix display, SnapShot and more. Not only that, but it offers alot in the audio department as well, such as HDCD support, a built-in Dolby decoder, N-2-2 Spatializer and the impressive Virtual Light Machine, which creates a psychedelic light show that pulsates to each song differently (must more impressive that the Amazon review gives it credit). Also, it does read CD-RW. NUON gaming and future internet connectivity are big pluses as well. Future NUON games include Tempest 3000, Merlin Racing, Freefall 3050 A.D., MYST, Riven, Iron Soldier 3, aMaze, The Next Tetris, Monopoly, the Game of Life and more.
