Summary: Out of the Box Perfect
Review: This device worked as advertised out of the box. My 8 year old likes the smaller second remote. This player even works on CD that my previous 2 CD players had trouble with. We have seen several DVDs and it worked perfectly. I like the fast forward capability of selecting different speeds. It is not as fluid as a VCR, but is a tremendous improvement over my older DVD player. Works great, sounds great, got it on a Gold box, great value. Samsung is a 6 sigma company, hopefully my player lasts many years. We'll see.

Summary: Good price for features, half-decent performance...
Review: This DVD player has most of the features you would find in a $200+ player at a much lower cost. However, it doesn't take long to figure out why this player is so affordable. I, like other reviewers, experienced the "skipping" problems of this player. Audio CD's and MP3 CD's are handled well by this player. The problem exists with DVD movies, as this player sometimes randomly skips scenes while viewing the movie, and will also skip entire chapters when slowly searching through the movie. As I mentioned, this only occurs seldomly, but is still annoying when watching DVD movies. I wouldn't recommend this player to anyone unless there were no better options available at this price with this set of features.

Summary: Excellent Value
Review: Truly an excellent value. Purchased this DVD player yesterday, we have tested every function of this player already. Versatility doesn't even begin to describe this one. I opted not to purchase the P721 with the memory stick capability. I figured the extra [cost] for something we wouldn't use much wasn't worth it. I copied some photos to CD and viewed them with this player, full screen on my TV, just as promised. The MP3 play is great to. Oh yeah, it's a progressive scan DVD player, the picture quality is awesome.

The owner's manual is a good one. It not only tells you what the player will do but what not to expect from the player also. I have yet to purchase a piece of audio/video equipment where the accompanying manual explains the detail of configurations you have as options like this one. With every option there is an explanation of what to expect from each configuration, good, better, best for video and audio. For some folks this really isn't needed but for people just getting into the market or novice users you can't go wrong here.

The remotes are user friendly and my universal remote will control this player to.
