Summary: This is an excellent Product
Review: This is a very good DVD player with a bargain price. The picture and sound quality is flawless. It offers features which are offered for a much higher price in the other DVDs. I decided on this product after reading great reviews on Amazon and I am happy that the decision was a right one. The remote control is however not very handy.

Summary: Great Machine
Review: I chose this player after reading reviews for many models covering a wide price range. So far, I've found this to be an excellent choice, not only for its price range, but also compared to more expensive units I've seen. It is a well built machine, with all the features I could want and more.

To those people complaining about the "beeping": RT...M. To everyone complaining about the remote control: yeah, the buttons are small, but it doesn't take very long to get used to it.

Summary: Has it's share of bugs
Review: I was disappointed with my SD-1200 for many of the same reasons others have cited in their reviews. The remote control is poorly designed. The buttons are too small and the most important buttons are not differentiated by size or shape. The skip backwards does not work for audio CD's. However, there is a simple work around for the failure of the backward skip to work as documented in the manual. You can simply push the number key on the remote that corresponds to the previous track desired and then push the play button. Most dissapointing was the playing of Video CD's. The SD-1200 would lock up on Video CD's during some scenes. Overall the SD-1200 player has it's share of bugs. I replaced the Toshiba SD-1200 with the lower cost Samsung DVD-611. The results were very satisfying. The Samsung DVD-611 seems to be the least bug infested of all the DVD players. Samsung seems to have learned from the problems with older model DVD-709. Furthermore the remote control on the Samsung DVD-611 is correctly designed for human use. The Samsung DVD-611 also includes optical outputs for component audio, a feature conspicuously missing on the Toshiba SD-1200.

Summary: Easy Set up
Review: This is a great DVD player. There is no skipping at all in any part of the movies. And its very easy to set up, it took me maybe all of five minutes to plug in my new DVD player. If you can plug in Sony Play station to your tv you can plug in this dvd.

Summary: Excellent player, does NOT beep.
Review: Just wanted to counter the strangely negative review of this fine prouct for "beeping". It only beeps for users who have not read the manual and learned how to use their product.

Summary: Fine Machine
Review: After shopping around and reading the reviews here, I decided to purchase the Toshiba 1200. I have nothing but raves about the picture and sound. They are virtually flawless on the dozen or so DVDs I have screened so far. The black level detail is amazing. My only problem is with the remote. It has unbelievably tiny buttons with illogical placement. Also, unless you are pointing the remote directly at the machine, it does not pick up the commands. After a week of frustration, I have finally given up and begun shopping for a generic remote. That is the only major flaw in an otherwise satisfying purchase.

Summary: Excellent Customer Service
Review: I already posted a glowing review. One more superlative is in order. When I had some questions concerning the unit, I called the toll free number posted on the Toshiba web site, and immediately was able to speak to a friendly customer service rep. The questions were answered, and I was impressed. They even offered to mail me a rebate for free rentals from Netflix that I noticed while on their web site.

And by the way, the player is excellent!

Summary: GREAT QUALITY AND NO BEEPS
Review: This DVD has the best quality and the best price it hardly has any problems at all. It's a good price also.

Summary: Can I pay the list price, not your price?
Review: This is a review of your price structure. Is it $200.00 as the list price & $249.99 for your price as you have stated. If so I would like to buy it for the list price please.

Summary: Don't worry about beeps
Review: A previous reviewer warned about the nasty feature in which the DVD player will beep after everything you do. Yes, it is annoying, but it's easy to turn off (look in the manual). Otherwise, I can't say anything that hasn't already been said in other reviews. The sound and video are great.
