Rating: Summary: The panasonic pick switch Review: Ok, let's be serious here. Any player you buy is going to havean amazing picture. Likewise, the sound on any machine will make VHSseem pathetic. So what you want is ease of control, and reliablity. This is an OK machine, but after trying both, I settled on the Panasonic DVD-A320 over this on for a few reasons. First, the 6 channel discrete output for Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS that you can't get on this model. Unless your tuner has a decoder, this feature is worth the extra coin. On the 320, you can adjust the dB level of every individual speaker output. <NICE> The remote is very intuitive making control an breeze compared to the confusing Hitachi and RCA button butchers. I've experienced absolutly no pixilation or skipping as others have on this model. My only complaint is that they couldn't be bothered to throw in a lousy s-video cable with the package like they used to. A small loss on a great machine. Pay the extra and buy the A320 model.
Rating: Summary: good machine... Review: This machine has impressed me. It has a large number of features thatmany other machines of its price range don't have. I have also runmovies in excess of 3 hours long and have had no problems. partly, I have only had the machine for a month but the machine has been in use for about 2-3 hours a night. I am pleased with this machine and I highly recommend it to anyone....
Rating: Summary: MOST ELECTRIFYING ON THE MARKET! Review: Before I start, i just want to say to all those sony lovers, dont buy the sony dvd player. Its the most expensive and is not even a decent dvd player, you'll be just throwing your paychecks away so forget sony! Now the Panasonic A-120, great price everywhere and amazing player. Panasonic being the number one company on the market today has shown why they are one with the A-120. Great picture and you get Dolby Digital 5.1 surround with DTS. This player has it all another thing I love is it plays DVD/CD/VCD. What else can a person ask for. Its the best no matter what. So if your looking for DVD player look no more, i'm an expert and you should get this. GREAT PRICE, SUPERIOR PLAYER, AMAZING PICTURE, MIND BLOWING SOUND!
Rating: Summary: World's 1st Disposable DVD player! Review: All the good reviews are right - the picture is great the sound is great, etc. I enjoyed mine immensely - until it turned into a giant paperweight, with the pixelation/lock-up problems mentioned in numerous reviews. I would not recommend this nor will I ever buy ANY product made by Panasonic ever again, due to their total lack of customer support. Buy a Sony, a Pioneer or a Toshiba - anything's better than Panasonic. PS: For all of those who wrote positive reviews, I am sorry in advance for when your machines fail...
Rating: Summary: A great player for people new to DVD Review: Just recieved my new Panasonic A120 DVD player. The picture is very clear and the sound is loud and crystal clear. I can see why DVD is so popular. Now that the price for DVD players are lowering, now is a great time to purchase one. I haven't experience any problems yet on this machine. Even the 'Matrix' works fine on this machine. Great sound and picture for entry-level DVD players.
Rating: Summary: Nice player, but failure-prone Review: I purchased one of these about 6 months ago. I was initially very pleased with it, but it now tracks really poorly, leading to annoying pixelation, even on brand-new disks. I wouldn't recommend it given the failures mentioned in other reviews.
Rating: Summary: 5 months and NO problems; very happy Review: I purshased the DVD-A120 from a local electronics retailer in June, and while it's seen less-than-average usage over the months, I've been very pleased with this units' performance. I was immediately drawn to it for it rich feature set (e.g. component video outputs, co-axial and optical digital audio outputs), within it price point. Over the months, though, I've haven't had any of the problems such as lock-ups and pixellation that some of the other reviewers have had, and I continue to be pleased with the units high-quality image, outstanding sound, and overall high-quality feel. Given an unlimited budget, the high-end ($1,000 +) Sony model would have been my choice, but for the money, I feel the Panasonic is one of the best players available.
Rating: Summary: in a class by its self Review: If there were a lower grade I'd give it to this product. I received this model for my birthday and had it up and running the only problem was there was no picture even though all the connectors were right on. As I see Panasonic has a poor reputation on their players and customer service so I will be returning this product inmediately.
Rating: Summary: Its a good product Review: Well I really didnt go to get this brand when I got it, but the fact it had 2 lasers, 1 for music and one for movies sold me. The picture is great and so is the sound. I havnt had a glitch yet. This would probably be the best bang for the buck. If you dont have 5 speaker surround This machine offers a virtual surround which is pretty cool. Over all its a really good deal.
Rating: Summary: great start out player Review: I recently bought this player as a gift to my husband and he loves it. Every movie we have played on it including Matrix, Face Off, Bugs Life and such have had no problems and look fantastic. Hes addicted to DVD now. Im very glad I made the choice to buy this machine after a friend purchased a different model the same time as me and has already had to return the machine twice to get a replacement. We are both very happy with this machine.
