Summary: NORCENT DVD 302 Player -a very good buy
Review: The NORCENT 302DVD Player IS A VERY VERY GOD BUY. I repeat a very very good buy .
I purchased it on line when I was in Boston , USA a few months back and am presently using it in my home city BANGALORE . INDIA ,with a 220 to 110 volt converter purchased locally .
I have tested its performance for CD , VCD and MP 3 discs and found it to be very good
However with my first DVD ( I tried LION KING )I found that except for the speech part other aspects -video pic, music etc are very good.
I do not know whether I have issed some vital instruction in the manual supplied with the equipment and by operating the player properly this apparent problem also can be overcome .I Should be thankful for help in this regard from the manufacturer or any customer .
In closing I should add if the speech problem can be sorted out , the rating would be higher say 4 1/2 or even 5

Summary: Bad DVD Player & Bad Customer Service from Norcent
Review: The Norcent DP315 DVD player I received is defective (freezes and skips). I called Norcent and was put on hold for 20 minutes only to be told it would take more than 30 days and return shipping hassles and technical reviews to check the problem.Norcent doesn't even have a toll free customer service number and I strongly recommend no one buy ANY Norcent product if only for this reason, not to mention the actual problems I have experienced with their DVD unit. I am now returning this bum product to Amazon who will certainly give Norcent the proper business rejection they deserve.

Summary: Nice Look, but needs work
Review: The price attracted me (as it did others). Very easy to set up, looks great, small size and cool-looking remote. Unfortunately, it freezes at least once, but not more than twice, every time I watch a DVD. It's not a major freeze, but lasts an average of 6 to 7 seconds. Kinda ruins the movie if you're in the middle of an action scene, but overall is a good player for the price. One other thing that I experienced, that someone else mentioned , is, the remote has a somewhat smaller range left and right of the eye than most TV's, VCR's, etc. Still a decent player, except for that freezing issue.

Summary: Good enough, but could be better
Review: This Christmas, my brother got a dvd player as well as my parents. I got some other things, so I didn't get one. I had some extra Xmas cash so I went to Wal Mart and bought this DVD player. Pros - Small, easy to work, no assembly, easy to hook it up. Has a nice subtitle menu...has played all my DVD's fairly well. Cons - Screen will freeze and you have to wait for it to fix itself...sometimes it can be up to a minute or two and it's very annoying. The remote dosen't pick up the player very easily. If you want a cheap DVD player, that will play your DVD's and give you wonderful picture, get this one. Minor problems do occur. If you want a nice DVD player that will give you max quality, I would suggest spending a little bit more. Overall, this is a pretty nice player. I love the size of it, it's really small, which makes it really easy to set up and keep in a sturdy place.

Review: This DVD player is not all that great. Since getting the DVD player for Christmas, I have not been able to watch an entire DVD without the player skipping images and freezing up.
It's okay for the price, but be prepared to be patient with the DVD player. Good luck.

Summary: Bad, awful, and worse!!!
Review: This dvd player seemed like a great buy for the price - but I guess you get what you pay for. When the player is first used a security password comes up and you have to "disable" it or take the parental lock off. When you go to the manual for instructions on how to do this - you are greeted with something that was either written by someone who speaks horrible english or has awful grammar. There are typos galore and sentences missing words. Very hard to read. And here's the best part - the player doesn't even play all dvd's. When I play a dvd sometimes it plays - other times it shuts itself off, or won't leave the initial main screen saying Norcent. I recommend a name brand - no more off brands or generics for me. I expected better from a reputable company like amazon - that they checked and reviewed products before selling them. Hopefully this will help some other person who may have wanted to purchase this system.

Summary: Norcent Deserves ZERO Stars
Review: This is the most disappointing purchase I ever made at Amazon. Do not buy this product (there are lots of other similar priced DVDs at Amazon, and I suspect most are far better; in fact I have ordered an Akai as a replacement). The Norcent often "stuck" while playing DVDs, and a little over 3 months into owenership it displayed "NO DISC" when a DVD was inserted and would no longer work. It's junk, and of course, with the warranty expired, it would cost more to fix than replacing it. I gave it one star, but if zero was an option, I'd give it zero.

Summary: Norcent DVD player
Review: This is the worst DVD player on the market. I purchased one that did not work well and had to pay $10 to ship it to the company. After 2 months, I received a used machine that stopped working completely after 3 months. Even though it is under the warranty, I will not spend an extra $10 to get another bad machine. Stay away from it.

Review: This system does not support 220 Volts. I read in the Editorial review that it's 220 Volts / PAL compatible, but it's neither. I checked with Norcent folks and they confirmed it too. One would think, the Editor, of all people would get it right, atleast. Now the people at Amazon won't take this system back for a upgrade too. Thankx Editor !!!!

Review: This unit is a piece of junk. I am going to return it asap. The player is a piece of junk. Not a single movie will play properly on this device. It is a piece of junk. I would use much stronger language, but want everyone to know how poor this product operates. Did I mention this thing is a piece of junk. Shame on Amazon for selling such crap!!!!!
