Summary: Great Little Product!
Review: I got this DVD player as a gift. I am happy with this player. I have to say that it has served me well so far. I love the accessories, sound, remote, and the compact size of it. I don't know why people are saying such negative things about this DVD player. I am glad that I got this. This is for the person who claims that there is no website for this company. It is www.mintekdigital.com. Try Google next time to search. I was able to register my product on the website and to look at the other products that they offer. I have had no problems with this at all. It has played all of my DVD's and CD's. It does not freeze up.

Summary: cheap and worth buying
Review: i got this dvd player couple of days back and i must say the first time i saw it i was surprised by its size and audio/video quality (the reason i bought it) .It has worked like a charm since then. i have never had problems with it .The only thing is that it gets hot quick but this is not a malfunction. well in a nutshell it is good piece and is worth buying ..

Review: I got this unit as a Xmas gift and it already screws up. The unit constantly locks up. I will be returning it for a unit from a differnet manufacturer.

Review: I have had this portable DVD player for well over a year now and have never had any problem with it; the picture and sound quality have always been great. It has lasted 5 car trips and has traveled on 8 planes, and has never let me down. I can't see why anyone would rate this DVD player as a bad product. The battery though started out as 2 hours and 15 minutes and would only last about 2 hours (after exactly 18 charges). If you don't mind a 5" screen then I strongly recomend that you choose this player.

Summary: Excellent buy for the Money
Review: I purchased this player more than 1 year ago. My daughter has used this player a minimum of 8 hours every other weekend. It has worked great. This unit even had a glass of water spilled on it by my daughter and after draining and drying the unit still works 8 months later. I am considering purchasing another and would definitely consider Mintek again.

Summary: AMAZING LITTLE JIM !
Review: I purchased this portable dvd player after shopping around and checking all my options, i wanted something cheap, good quality and that would last, Let me tell you i got what i was looking for i bought this and instantly got in the car for a 5 hour trip, all i did was get it out plug it into the cig.lighter and away she went. I put it to the test with dvds like star wars and lord of the rings that have high sound and picture quality, it blew me away how great it was, then i popped in some cds i had burned and they played great. The trip was long and bumpy and this thing never skipped. The battery last very long 3-4 and takes about that time to charge. Plug some headphones into this and the sound is better then some tvs. What i like to do is put Subtitles on which has the words at the bottom of the screen so i know when to mute the languag.
It comes with a nifty little remote that works great. Everything about this dvd player is great, no complaints here, people complain about the battery and say its to big and flimsy but its not, you hook the battery on and secure it then put the battery cable (about 2 inches long) in the power whole, its great for those people who dont wanna read the instructions.
GREAT BUY I RECOMMEND TO ALL !

Summary: Poor machine, poor customer service
Review: I received a MDP-5861 for Christmas and boy was I disappointed. I have yet to be able to play a DVD from start to finish without the movie freezing. I have to power off and eject the disc then power on and re-insert the disc to watch the next 10 minutes before it freezes. I have not been able to speak with a person at Mintek to get the warrented repairs. Mintek doesn't even answer their email. This machine is not worth spending $10 much less $200.

Summary: Present failed in just 10 days
Review: I received this as a gift and thought it was wonderful, great picture, great sound and then nothing. The player failed to work in just 10 short days. Purchased on 12/10 and returned on 12/22.
Despite following the instructions for trouble shooting the player just sat on "loading". The purchase price was $269.00, for the price I think it should last longer than 10 days. This product seems to fragile for use.
