Rating: Summary: Very Disappointed...2 defective units in a row!! Review: I received this unit as a Christmas present, and used it 3 times in two weeks, then the unit failed to read any CD I tried to play. I re-read the owners manual and nothing worked. I then contacted Panasonic and their instructions failed as to what was wrong and it still was unable to read CD's. I then contacted Amazon and related my problem to them. Their customer service department was terrific and sent me a replacement unit (same model), which was used only twice and the same problem arose. I again contacted Amazon, who again were absolutely wonderful in helping me, said they would send me a prepaid label to return the second unit and would issue me a gift certificate for the purchase price of this gift. I cannot praise Amazon enough for their excellent customer support. I will think twice before I ever purchase a Panasonic product again, especially any of their DVD players. I will use my Amazon gift certificate to purchase a DVD player from another manufacturer, it certainly won't be a product from Panasonic. Keep up the good work Amazon...I will be a customer with you for a long time.
Rating: Summary: Great product. Reads several types of disks. Review: I upgraded to this DVD player to get features such as MP3 playback and support for burnt CDs/DVDs. So far I'm very pleased and actually surprised with its performance:- Reads music CD-R and CD-RW disks with no issues. - Reads MP3 and WMA CD-R and CD-RW disks. I burnt some music folders on a CD-RW, put it in the DVD player and it had no issues playing either format. There is a very handy directory 'tree' that lets you find the song you're looking for. - Reads JPEG CD-R and CD-RW disks. Again, if a CD has JPEG files on it, this DVD player will find them and start showing a slide show. - I didn't have any DVD-R or DVD-RW disks on hand but instead I put in DVD+R and DVD+RW disks I had made and these played!! I don't believe this feature is advertised but it seems to work. - Also this DVD player handles Video CDs quiet well. Along with the above, the picture quality using the component out connections in superb. Also the menu/display system is well designed and very easy to learn. The remote is not backlit but is at least intuitive. The only two omissions I have noticed to date: 1. No S-Video output. So it's either composite or component. 2. No screen saver feature when you're playing music CDs. Overall this is a great buy. I hope these new price points for DVD players reflect the fact that this technology is getting cheaper vs. the advent of disposable devices. Only time will tell. Until then enjoy all the new features.
Rating: Summary: Works great for me Review: I'm not a DVD expert, but this one has worked great for me. Easy hookup, easy to use, great performance.
Rating: Summary: H-07 errors Review: I've had this unit for just 7 months and it quite working, giving a H-07 error. Panasonic customer service recommends that I send it in (at my cost) to a repair depot in California where a tech will work on it for $90/hour. Given the shipping and repair costs is not worth it to me to repair and I'll be getting a new DVD player. Any brand except Panasonic.

Rating: Summary: Be Careful Review: One thing to watch out for when purchasing a DVD player: Does it have the Optical output for the Audio to connect to your home theatre system. The Panasonic DVD-S25 does not. This means that if you use this unit, you will be using all analog for you audio, and you will not get true Dolby Digital Audio. As a side comment, I have owned over $100,000 of different Pansonic products over the years, including numerous DVD players. I have also owned DVD players from other manufacturers. Panasonic DVD players are the most unreliable units of all electronic devices I have owned. They do not last very long, they skip pretty consistently. Do your homework and make sure you really want the Panasonic brand name on your list.
Rating: Summary: Easy to use, good deal! Review: Panasonic quality shines through in this unit. From the easy set up to the great picture quality, this is a winner! Be careful of those no-name brands, their quality does not match up to Brands like Panasonic.
Rating: Summary: Panosonic best picture best sound best options Review: Some of you who've read my previous reviews on DVD players may know I use to work at an electrinic store selling players. Now even though i dont work there the store manager alway has me try any new models of DVD players he recieves at my home for a given period of usually about a month,a month of hell for any player I will thuroly check them and Keep them playing about 18 hours a day. This player falls in line with panasonics 30's series player in short that means this is a great player i invite you to read my other DVD player reviews, that will give in depth what feature this player has check the panosonic 31-35 models their identical to thos although this is a little cheaper model which shows only in that it has no fiber optic out only coaxil.Click to go to my other reviews to get a better look at panasonic or dont bother and waste no more time and purchase (If you dont have to have or want fiber optic out)
Rating: Summary: Don't buy Panasonic DVD players until they resolve H07 Review: The motors on several Panasonic models have quit working after about a year. Do a search on "Panasonic DVD error code H07" in Google and watch what comes up. Until they get their act together I would avoid Panasonic all together.
