Summary: Fine for playing DVDs and MP3s, not so good for Audio CDs
Review: I had no problem playing DVDs on this unit. It worked fine. I also had success with MP3 CDs. I was able to browse the directory structure of the CD and play the desired albums or tracks.
However, Audio CDs are another story. I regularly make CDs of live material, which I edit on my computer, burn to CD, and audition in my living room. When I played one of these CDs on the Zenith, I was dismayed to hear gaps between the CD tracks, with the first 1-2 seconds of each track missing. Thinking that it might be the CD writing software, I wrote another CD with a different program. Same gaps and skips. Finally, I tried a pressed music CD, with similar results.
If you intend to play audio CDs on your DVD deck, you should probably look elsewhere.

Review: i love this dvd player! it's the best. I can run it all night and still keeps working. plus it's slim. what more can you ask for? space saving, sleek design, and strong! the best for it's money.

Summary: Simple and effective!
Review: I purchased this DVD player about one year ago, and used it frequently (one-two times a week on average, probably). Video and audio rendition are excellent, and I only had some problems with one or two very old and scratchy discs. The DVD is a bit slow to come to life when I switch it on, but it takes a few seconds, after all. All the commands always worked properly. I love the multi-speed fast forward (x2, x4, x16, x100). Overall, I am very happy I purchased this product. It is a simple player without too many options, but it does its job fine, and it has all the options I really care about, for an excellent price.

Summary: Take Your Chances
Review: I've had other DVD players which I paid a lot more for. They all balk at occasional places on certain DVDs. Some DVDs won't play at all. In the Zenith DVB312 there are no hang ups with any of those finicky DVDs. Separate issue: the remote is the most intelligently designed, easy to understand, minimal bunky bits (walking through several obscure menus to get what you want), maximal one idea -- one button. This player does anything you want, it's cheap, it's even pretty.I bought a second one of these. It has a hard time keeping sync between the audio and video. My opion has consequently lowered.

Summary: Works for me
Review: It works. It's super skinny and fits under the VCR. It plays all sorts of discs including DVDs and JPG CDs and CDA CDs. It has a cool fully adjustable zoom feature. I wish it had a better slider bar advance/skip feature like in PowerDVD but hey. Controls are easy enough for the kids to use. The picture quality is good on my regular 32 inch TV. I haven't had any problems with weird device behavior. It's cheaper than some computer internal CD drives.

Summary: Not a bad player but...
Review: The player itself is flawless. I have always enjoyed LG Electronics items, and that's what this item is. It plays all store bought DVD's and anything my friends and I can burn for school projects. Biggest flaw however is that the remote stopped working on the DVD, and now only controls my Phillips TV. Not sure how to fix it or what happened to it. Now I am unable to get through menus. Will update as I find a solution to the problem. **Update** Contact support for this product. I was instructed to go the a local LG Electronics service center to have my DVD player serviced. When I responded to the email that I had no problem with the player just the remote, I received the same automated response. Haven't gone to a service center yet, but plan on doing so. I have found that with a Universal Remote, I am able to get through the menus using the numeric keys... not the best, but working for now.

Summary: Could have been good...
Review: This DVD player has real problems synching audio and video. We have to restart every DVD we play due to the problems with audio synching. It's like watching a bad Godzilla movie! Another problem with it is that the remote is very confusing. It's difficult to start a scene over, it frequently goes to the beginning of the DVD. All in all, we wouldn't buy this player again.

Summary: Great DVD Player
Review: This is the 4th standalone DVD player I have owned and it is very good. It is super slim and has an excellent picture and features for the money. it would work great with any high-end projection TV as it has progressive scan and can be set to play in wide screen aspect too. I have it connected to a 32" TV with just the standard av jacks and the picture is still superb so consider that as your benchmark. And, this unit will play DVD+RW/R discs without any trouble either! I just burned my first disc on my new Cendyne burner that I installed in my PC and it played flawlessly on this Zenith unit. I highly recommend this player if you want a good single disc player with a great picture that can also play discs you have burned yourself.

Summary: Good buy
Review: This is the first Dvd player I have bought I can play Dvd's on my computer but wanted a more relaxing way to watch them. I have had this unit for about a year and it is fantastic I watch an average of 45 Hrs. of DVD's a week and have not had a single problem with this system, my roommate had a more expemsive Sony unit that lasted 6 months and couldn't beleave how good my player worked and the picture quality I got for the price I paid. He has since bought the same unit. For the price this is a GREAT player and works as good as some twice the price.
