Featuring a distinctive silver cabinet only 14 inches wide, the progressive-scan player includes DVD, VCD/SVCD, and JPEG image CD playback and can be used to listen to MP3- and WMA-encoded music CDs. The player's MP3/JPEG combination play lets you use an MP3 file as a soundtrack to a digital photo slideshow, while the supplied unified remote control operates most RCA and GE-branded entertainment components (DVD/TV/VCR). Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts. Composite- and S-video outputs bring compatibility with nearly any television, and you have the option of routing the player's composite- or S-video output to one set and the component-video outs to another simultaneously.
