Summary: The Magic Sword - Quest For Camelot
Review: A nice enough animated adventure featuring the voices of Gary Oldman, Eric Idle and Pierce Brosnan among others and the singing talents of such stars as Andrea Corr, Leann Rimes and Celine Dion. It won't appeal to all children, like such Disney classics as Snow White, Pinocchio or Aladdin, but it's a pleasent film nonetheless.

Summary: Great film for young girls
Review: Though many people seemed to have trouble with this film, I find it to be very well done. There are no worse monsters in this film and it is no darker than Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dome. My seven year old daughter loves this movie, as well as the music. Though there are monsters, it reminds me of the Snow White-type scary creatures when the main character wakes up in the forest.

Kayle is a positive role model for young girls and Garret is the type of boy you'd want your daughter to become a knight with. I would recommend it to others, and have done so.

Summary: Yuck
Review: I am a big animated movie fan, whether it be Disney or Dreamworks or whatever, but I have to say that this was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The only redeeming quality was the Leann Rimes song, and that Cary Ewles was the voice of the lead man, but this movie was very bad. Even the jokes that the dragons tried to make were awful.

Summary: A disappointment in many respects
Review: I rented this tape for my 4-year-old son who loves anything to do with Knights. While he liked it, I, as a parent, was not pleased. The story is simple, which is good, but in order to make the movie longer, it becomes a relentless string of fairly violent confrontations and there are an awful lot of monsters. It's a much darker film than I'd expected. The light-hearted antics of the dragons seem out of place alongside the dark intensity of the evil characters and the almost constant destruction and violence.

Summary: Thank you Warner Bros.
Review: I enjoyed this movie very much! The main reason is because I'm disabled, thank you Warner Bros. for Garret:) . The animation was pretty good, the songs were excellent,(although I would have to have heard Carey Elwas sing.) I'm hoping to get the soundtrack soon and drive my sister crazy with it

Summary: Better then Disney!!!
Review: I loved this film! The Animation was the best that I have ever seen from any non Disney project.. For those that don't know, Christopher Reeve was originally supposed to be Kong Arthur.. Due to his accident, he had to bow out... Kaley was a young girl that proved that she was worthy of being a part of the round table... Great film for lovers of Animation....

Review: I went to see this movie with my sister who was three at the time and a friend who was seven then. My little sister had to leave the theater it was so scary! It didn't make sense! The first thing they showed was her dad getting killed!!!!!!!! Then all these people getting turned into monsters! I mean come on! The comercails made it seem like a little girl movie! I hate this movie and I don't recomend it!!!!!!!!!

Summary: Don't miss this great family film!
Review: If you have been hunting for good animated family films on DVD, then you've discovered, as I have, that there simply are not that many available. Up until the release of "A Bug's Life", not one of the Disney classics were available in this format.

But who needs Disney anyway? Quest for Camelot has everything you want in an animated family feature including fun characters, creepy villains, and fantastic music. If you missed this charming little film on the big screen, then don't miss it now on DVD, the next best thing to the theater. I've collected every Disney release (on video) and I can say, from experience, that Quest for Camelot ranks right up there, somewhere between Aladdin and The Little Mermaid.

The high point of this film is the music (most of it anyway). The tunes will give that fancy DVD sound system of yours something worthwhile to do for a change. The story line is a pleasant if uninspired twist on the classic Arthurian legend, and the lead character of Kayley is a wonderful role model for any little girl. The young blind hermit Garret is also appealing, as is Aiden the silver winged Hawk that is his companion. On the other hand, I had a mixed response to the clownish, two headed dragon, Devon and Cornwall (voiced by Eric Idle and Don Rickles).

Gary Oldman's Ruber is as evil as you could ask a "black knight" to be. His character is perhaps the high point of the film's animation which is admittedly uneven at times. He has a legion of wickedly nasty henchmen to do his bidding who are just doltish enough to be amusing and not too scary for the kiddies. My four year old is a lot more frightened of the psycho grasshopper in "A Bug's Life" than anything in Quest for Camelot.

This is a good film for kids which most adults will enjoy as well. When I invested in my DVD player, I wanted something that could be shared by the whole family. It's nice to have movies like Quest for Camelot available to make that goal possible.
