Summary: Fascinatingly enchanting as it is entertaining
Review: Summer vacation is a dreaded time for Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) as it means having to endure the histronics of his mean aunt and uncle. Returning back to his Hogwarts School of Witchcraft would seem a much wiser option but Dobby the House Elf warns him of "a plot to make most terrible things" is in the brewing. With disregard of the warning, the boy wizard begins his sophomore year at the school of magic - and things happen - when his schoolmates are 'petrified' into statues. In fact this is only the beginning when he later takes on gigantic spiders, screeching mandrakes, Fawkes the phoenix and the fearsome Basilisk.

The second entry adapted from J.K Rowling's legacy has neither the epic sweep of the fourth book (The Goblet of fire) nor the mystery of the third (The Prisoner of Azkaban) but is nonetheless an engaging adventure and a riveting story. What's more with director Chris Colombus at the helm who shows more precision and familiarity after his first attempt, Harry Potter and the Chamber of secrets is a majestic adventure filled with visionary sets and fluid CGI effects that astonishingly enhance the darker fantasy tale and adventure. The soaring adventure thrills with its enshrouding perils, awesome moments of wonder and enlightening morality and friendship.

It thus resembles more of an awkward adolescence stage in this saga for the three main casts. Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grinch as Harry, Hermoine and Ron reprises their role with the loss of their innocence along with veterans Maggie Smith as Professor McGonagall, the late Richard Harris as the benevolent headmaster Dumbledore, Robbie Coltrane as giant Hagrid and Alan Rickman as Professor Snape. The new interlopers are equally scene-grabbing in their own rights: Kenneth Branagh does a rib-tickling interpretation of braggadocio Gilderoy Lockheart as well as Jason Issacs as the wicked Lucius Malfoy.

With a solidly ensembled cast and sumptuous sets, the second installment is fascinatingly entertaining as it is enchanting enough to sustain its 3 long hours without any misgivings.

Summary: Just as good as the first Movie!
Review: This movie followed the book very closely. It did leave a few parts out and still was over 2h 30min long.

They really did a good job with most of the jokes from the book, and added a few things that make it eaiser to follow.

The only complaint i have is during the scene when Harry potter is in the chamber of secrects with Tom Riddle who released the basilisk, this got a little unbelievable. This was because the snake was really not as scarry as they could have made it, which might appeal to some of the young audiences, and the way it was depectied (the way it attacked) was a little "toned down".

Still though, this was a very enjoyable movie, and would also recommend you get it on DVD if you are a ture fan of anything Magic related.

Note: This movie will make perfect sense if you have not read the book, but you might have trouble if you did not see or read the first (Harry Potter and the sorcerers stone). It would be to your advantage just to rent out the first movie.

~hope this helps, and enjoy

Summary: Pretty Darn Good
Review: I didn't think too much of Harry Potter when The Sorcerer's Stone came out last year, but when it came to video and I rented it, I thought it wasn't bad. I thought that I should see The Chamber of Secrets at least once in theaters because the Quidditch scenes would look amazing on a bigger screen. I was not disappointed. The Harry Potter movies, so far, have been a lot better than I first thought. I highly reccommened it. The acting is very well done and the special effects are amazing.

Summary: Enter the Chamber of Secrets
Review: Chris Columbus has done it again. Bringing the magic of imagination to celluloid screen, he's getting better and better.
This sequel to the Sorcerer's Stone is better than the previous one. Experience is a great teacher. The second book is better than the first one, this holds as well in case of movies too.
A wonderfull movie for kids of all ages 3 to 300years ;-).
The computer generated Dobby is also really cool. He looks very real in the movie. Though there wasn't much role of Durselys but they have been impressive in their work. The quiddich match has great special effects specially when the tampered bugger follows Harry.
The kids really look grown up. Rupert Grint is facing a change of voice but he's still cool with his funny expressions.
Daniel Radcliffe, also looks a little older, has given a good performance in this movie.
I would recomend reading of the book before moving on to see the movie, otherwise you might miss on many small events which happen in the movie. It's very diffcult to put down all of the book on the screen (it would come out to be a 5 hr movie) but chris has done great work editing down not so relevant scenes.
I'm eagerly waiting for the DVD and the next sequel. I've heard that they've already started with the third movie.
GREAT GOING CHRIS !!!!

Summary: Great movie
Review: I would give it four and a half stars if I could.

Well this movie is better than the first which was already quite good. It's funny, and it has some nice pieces of action. Apart from that, these actors can really act. And I'm not talking just about the older actors, like the late Richard Harris, which are obviously terrific. Even the kids are great. The snobbish aspect of Hermione, the clumsiness of Ron and the nastiness of Draco all stand out in the film thanks to these children's pure talent.

What disappoints me is that Harry Potter finales never have the climax I expect them to have. Hence, the reason for my missing star.
