Summary: This movie is magic...
Review: regardless of the jadedness of today's audience. This movie holds an innocence about it that only a first viewing can capture. Today watching it, a new audience might be turned off by it - but the reason being is nothing phases anybody today. The story had alot of potential but don't let criticism and the flaws bog you down in watching this MOVIE!

BUT WHEN THE ISTHE STUDIO GOING TO RELEASE IT ALREADY???

Summary: Legend is a Legend
Review: 2 Unicorns, 1 Dark Lord, 1 Beautiful Princess, 1 Jack of the Forest, Good vs. Evil, throw in a few Elves and Goblins and a willful Sprite and you have the ULTIMATE fantasy flick! From the sets, to the costumes, to the soundtrack, this is a Fairy Tale come stunningly to life. In spite of being an older film the quality still shines and keeps it from being dated. In my opinion it's a Classic. If you're a Dreamer, if you believe love conquers all, if you believe in Magic...or if you just want to see a great portrayal of Satan, this is THE movie to see!

Summary: Review for people who are not so critical!
Review: I do not know why people seem to think this movie is not so great. It has always been one of my absolute favorites, (and I haven't even seen the director's cut, I've only seen the cropped version). You see, when I watch a movie, I don't think of reasons why it was not perfect, I just decide whether I liked it or not! In my opinion, this movie is GREAT. I can't wait to get it on dvd and watch the uncut version. So it's not perfect, SO WHAT. Watching this movie is like being able to wade through a dream world without being asleep! Not to mention that, for the time this movie was brought out, the make-up and visual effects were, and still are, SUPERB.

Summary: The best fantasy movie of all time
Review: For fans of the fantasy genre, it is hard to find a good film that represents what they enjoy so much, but Legend is that film. It truly has the spirit of fantasy, and very well-done fairy tale elements as well, and if I had to describe the movie I could simply use one word; enchanting. The sets are absolutely breath-taking, and when you've seen it as many times as I have the dialogue becomes like a favorite song that you can recite right along with the characters. I must have seen this movie a billion times since its theatrical release (when I was only 4). Quite simply, there is no fantasy film to match it, and this is a showcase of director Ridley Scott's brilliance, which lead to what I see as his magnum opus, Gladiator. There's just no describing this film. If you're a fantasy fan, this is for you. You can do no better.

Summary: Fascinating fantasy
Review: This movie, "Legend," is quite fascinating, almost as enjoyable as "The Neverending Story." The story does stray from Disney-like imagination, but delves into a darker fairy tale between good and evil. Tom Cruise does play an excellent hero, and Tim Curry plays an outstanding villain. It has very good special effects and a good plot. The reason I wonder it got 2 stars from Roger Ebert. Rated PG for violence and adult situations.

Summary: Both versions have their good points.
Review: I loved this movie, both versions. Let me give you my opinion of both and then you can see them by ordering this DVD! I saw the US first as I live in America. I LOVED IT! Tim Curry is excellent and the music was haunting and very creepy. While the pop songs are good they were uneccessary. BUT, TD's score deserves more praise than it gets from people. Jerry G. score is lovely but at times it is TOO lovely. His score for the Darker parts of the film do not come close to the errieness of TD's music and the music for the waltzing dress is boring compared to TD's version in my mind. I would have loved to have a melding of the scores, Jerry's music for the non-darkness parts and TD for the Darkness parts. Also the editing on the US while it cuts out key scenes actually seems smoother than some of the edits in the European version which at times looked to me like they just chopped something out in the middle. I haven't seen the DVD versions yet just a converted PAL and the US release. Anyway, see both versions and make your own choice. I think they both have good points.*I just wish I could have seen the REEEALY long version people say the movie was originally, way more than 2 hours from what I have heard!!

Summary: Magical movie
Review: This film truly is magnificent; however, if you're not a total science fiction/fantasy freak (as I just happen to be) this film may come across a bit lame. Not to discredit the movie in any way; it is one of the earliest fantasy films I'd seen, and I was hooked. Tom Cruise is great.

Summary: Legend (Director's Cut)
Review: If you've never seen the Director's cut of this film, you're going to be VERY surprised. When the movie was released here in the US, it was butchered by other editors to the point that the story no longer makes any sense. BY ALL MEANS - see the Director's cut (previously only available over seas!) Plus the Jerry Goldsmith score ranks up there with the best of anything John Williams has written... I am so thrilled that the original version is finally going to be commercially available over here.

Summary: Jerry Goldsmiths music score should never have been cut.
Review: It is good to see,and hear, the movie "Legend" with the original and brilliant score by Jerry Goldsmith. Can you believe that studio executives would be foolish enough to cut this score by one of America's greatest composers? It makes you wonder how they think(grey "suits" with their grey thoughts).Legend has great music and photographic style which make up for what is a slightly disappointing story. And a young Tom Cruise wasn't yet up to the lead role in a film.Still, the film has some memorable scenes with a mixture of the beautiful music and cinematography.

Summary: A True Classic Fantasy Movie
Review: I just love the forest scenes. Ridley Scott did a very good job. The Tangerine Dream did a good job as well. I especially love the dance sequence with Mia Sara. It was just very cool.
