Review: I laughed continuosly throughout the movie. I enjoyed the 2nd movie as much as the 1st. I would definately see it over and over!

Summary: DO NOT MISS THE PIG IN THE CITY!!!
Review: This movie was panned by many who saw it for its dark theme and somewhat frightening content. I, however, believe that it is not only for children, but for adults and children to experience together. The story has many things to say about the world we live in and the people we encounter daily. I truly was lost in the fantasy from the first moment. Though the film is difficult and parents will need to watch it with their children to guide them through its complicated issues, I believe it is the first film of real relevance for families in the 90's. Babe: Pig in the City and the original Babe are two films that I will cherish with my children just as my parents guided me through the Wizard of Oz with its frightening and dark themes 25 years ago.

This movie is also a technical marvel. You will never forget your first glimpse of the CITY.

Summary: An extraordinary film!
Review: It is rare nowadays to see a children's film crafted so immaculately as "Babe: Pig in the City". This movie is pure gold. It is visually stunning: the cityscape outside Babe's window is a blink-and-you-miss-it amalgamation of every famous world-wide landmark; the hotel itself is a spiraling, balconied wonder. George Miller has created a world where the most terrifying moments are set to opera (like the chimp and clown show that ever-so-slowly spins from eerily nostalgic to depressingly fatalistic) and where every endearing character has its heart in the right place. "Babe:PITC" is a must-see for every child and adult, for it is rare to see a film so enbedded in weaving magic and story and character so seamlessly together. The end result of this entaglement has you fascinated and glued to the screen throughout, laughing and in awe, frightened and unsure, and, above all, amazed.

Summary: Leonard Maltin is out of his mind on this one!!!
Review: I think Maltin is wrong. I went to see Babe: Pig in the City and I had my doubts, but I was won over by the wonderful story and impressive visuals. It creates a world of its own and the acting (Yes, I mean the animals too!) is incredible. The effects and set pieces make for a fable like tale. Check out the chase scene between Babe and a pit bull. It is both touching and scary in its outcome. Actually, the only bad thing is that James Cromwell has so little screen time. A great film!

Review: It might just be the fact that I am a pig lover, but I think not.

The film Babe - Pig in the City was funny, enjoyable, entertaining, cute. Do I need to go on?

The pigs used in the film were wonderful and the film relates to all age groups, from the very young to the very old.

If you do not believe me all you have to do is view the film. You will love it!!!!

Summary: A truly lovely film
Review: Seldom do you see a movie both as innovative and as well considered as Babe: Pig in the City. Somehow it manages to discuss morality and redemption, while coming across as neither boring nor preachy. Watching B:PIC is so captivating that it often reads like audio-visual poetry, or ballet with special effects. George Miller contemplates the human condition with a cast of animals and puppets in a more lovely, if not more astute, manner that most human based films. While it may be more visually and thematically "dark" than most children's fare, it also more grounded in goodness, and common human values. Babe: Pig in the City ranks along side movies like The Little Princess and My Neighbor Totoro as beautiful and important children's films.

Review: "Babe: Pig in the City" was an excellent film. It has been noted that it's quite a bit darker than its predecessor; it's also the better film. Those who dislike it on the basis of it's dark side miss the point. They claim that kids will hate it. Unfortunately for them, they forget that films like these (that includes animation) need not be directed at kids. The market has been so saturated by Disney films that exist in large part to earn profits through marketing tie-ins that people forget that these films may be designed more for adult audiences or even (gasp!) artistic purposes. As it is, this film is certainly more artistic and interesting visually than the original.

Review: Although it is very dark, not for children, and shouldn't be rated "G," this movie has got it all. I still think the original Babe is better though because of it's lightheartedness but Babe: Pig in the City is indeed a great technical achievement. The special effects and cinematography are by far more advanced than the original.

Summary: That'll do Pig!
Review: I absolutely loved this film. Even better than the original. I saw it in the theaters maybe a month after its release and to my suprise, I had to go to a little old-release theater pretty far from my house. I couldn't understand why it still wasn't in the main theaters. It was because the critics hated it...and no one went to see it. I think we should throw all movie critics in the ocean and let us decide for ourselves what is a good movie and what is not! It kept me very entertained for the entire span of the movie, the settings were great, especially of the city. I will see it again and again, and I'll show it to my kids most definitely! That'll do Pig, that'll do...I am the witness to insanity.
