Summary: Lacking some of the Henson magic, but still a lot of fun.
Review: This movie has some big shoes to fill. The original Muppet Movie, Muppets Take Manhattan, The Muppet Christmas Carol and the Muppet take on Treasure Island are classics in my mind. Muppets from Space ranks about fourth of the six, but these are six films at the top of the list of all time favorites. This film holds more tru to the earlier films, where our favorite fuzzy friends play themselves and the cameos fly fast and furious. Gonzo (The Whatever) decides that he is tired of being the only Muppet that is specialy challenged. A series of dreams and a sequence lifted directly from Contact help him to realize that he is actually from "Out there". Not only that, but his family is finally ready to come get him. From here the movie does what Muppet films do best- Vaudeville type gags and pop culture references that sometimes fly over children's heads, but help keep parents entertained. I originally saw this film with my wife, brother, sister in law and 6 year old niece. We adults (all raised on The Muppets on TV and at the movies) laughed longer, harder and more often than the moppet. References to contemporary science fiction films and TV series abound and are among the more clever gags peppered through the movie. Be sure to keep an eye open for a reference to Brent Spiner's appearance in ID4 once Kermit and friends get into the secret lab. It's a riot. The ending of the film is the only place it really misfires. It can be seen from a mile off and we all knew what would happen before we even entered the theater. Bu that's OK. We need the happy ending for the kids. The first 90 minutes were for us.

Review: This movie is a no-questions, hands-down five star effort. The hilarious script, brilliant soundtrack, and always-lovable muppet characters combine for an experience that was thoroughly enjoyed by all my household (ages 2 through 36) and more than a few of my friends. The script is fresher and funnier than some of the previous muppet offerings, and for me, has stood up to seven or eight viewings, both with and without the kids. You should definitely watch this one!

Summary: Kids Also Like It!
Review: This movie is incredibly funny and, I thought, really equaled the best of the earlier Muppet films. My fifteen-month-old son loves the physical comedy, and my four-year-old nephew adores the story. I love to watch it to, as a great deal of the pop culture references and funny lines are meant for adults (my favorite line: "You tell him and I will smack you. I will smack you like a bad, bad donkey, okay?") A good buy for the whole family!

Summary: MUPPETMANIA RETURNS!
Review: This movie is not as funny as the muppets last two offerings ofTreasure Island and A Chrismas Carol the main reason being the lack ofsongs which are often so great remember "We Got Cabin Fever" from Treasure Island. However, this is an original story written especially for the muppets and Gonzo in particular. Its great to see the little guy get a starring role at last and he does it with an oscar winning performance. The film is slightly more serious than previous muppet films, not to say that the film isn't crazy beacuase it is. It's just that there is a serious element underlying the madness. The film does still offer classic muppet moments, the first fifteen minutes are especially fun. And is overall a great movie that will appeal to both young and old and will leave a smile on your face.

Review: This movie was tons of fun. From Pepe the talking prawn to Animal's usual round of antics, there's lots of laughs for kids and adults. The cameos were pretty funny as well, especially Ray Liotta's. It's a real treat to see the Muppets are back to fine form after they missed the boat with Muppet Treasure Island (pun intended.)

Review: This muppet movie was hilarious, especially great for little kids. The previous ones had a few more classic muppet stuff in them, but this one was still great. It was more serious, too. But it's a really funny movie, and anyone would probably enjoy it, especially if you're already a fan.

Summary: I'm Hopping Mad!!!! Where is The Great Gonzo?
Review: This was a great idea (maybe) on blueprint for a new Muppet movie, but I find the final product to be overdone. One can't help but feel that the new Muppet movie makers were trying too hard to keep up with the times. Jim Henson rolled in his grave when Kermit belches out " go on with your bad selves!" This was the first of all the Muppet movies to abandon the musical film genre. The only reason I don't complain about the absence of original music sung by the muppets is due to the bad taste that "treasure Island" and "christmas Carol" left in my mouth. What bothers me most is the gradual corrosion of Gonzos character. I think it started when he got his nose stuck in the elevator doors in "The Great Muppet Caper". He liked it. Now Gonzo is a masochist and "hopes it hurts" when he's being cosmically transported through the universe. What happened to the Gonzo that stared up at the night sky an whispered in awe, "You could get lost in a sky like that"? What happened to the Gonzo that was on his way to Bombay India to make his own movie? In this movie he only comes across as "weird" because he's trying to gain contact with his alien relatives. He used to be my favorite. The very fact that we find out where Gonzo came from cheapens his character to bits. Meanwhile, Kermits voice, done by Brian Henson of the late jim, is a pain in the ear. Pepe the Prawn and Rizzo and the rats save the film. I was looking forward to seeing some references if not appearances by the "Pigs in Space." Nope. Miss Piggy was her usual self stealing the show with her kung fu and smart remarks. I didn't appreciate the Dawsons Geek Cameos I did appreciate the Bean Bunny cameo from "the tale of the bunny picnic. He gets smashed by the kitchen door and falls over, it's very cute. The big black bear is funny enough along with the Andy Dick look alike Doctor. And finally, that annoying barney mutation with the dredlocks drives the point home that the creators became unhip in trying to stay hip. 3 stars because it still has a faint glimmer of that Muppet magic at its core.

Review: This was a very good and very funny Muppet movie. The DVD has nice special features and a nice story line. Gonzo finally finds out what he is. He was always commonly called a "weirdo" or a "whatever". LOL, now he knows the truth, You will too if you see the movie :)
