Summary: Good movie about friendship and courage
Review: "Charlotte's Web" is the classic tale of a runt pig that is troubled by the threat of being killed for food and befriended by a knowledgeable spider. The movie takes place on a small farm and tells the story of how Wilbur the pig struggles early in his life and later rises to be famous. Charlotte the spider tells Wilbur many great lessons in life and gives him the encouragement it takes to make him feel good about himself. I grew up watching "Charlotte's Web" and it's still a good movie to watch. People will remember the movie by certain parts such as when Charlotte writes messages on her web about Wilbur, such as 'Some Pig,' and when Wilbur tries to fly. "Charlotte's Web" is a classic and if you have any kids, it will probably be one of their favorite movies.

Summary: All Life is Precious...
Review: ...from the human to the spider, we all feel and think. Yes, THINK. And we all want to live! This video is entertaining, sad, exciting and very upbeat. You will be "into it" from the beginning to the end. I recommend Charlotte's Web for anyone, from small child to executive - You will have to love it!

Review: Although I liked the book better, this movie is great. It teaches the wonder of life as well as death being inevidable. But more importantly it teaches about the value of friendship. A great children's movie as well as grown ups movie as well.

Summary: I loved this movie then...
Review: and I love it just as much today as I did when I was a child. This movie is not as technologically advanced as modern anime, but it is a movie that anyone can sit down and watch without fear of politically motivated subliminal messages and symbolism so prevalent in the Disney films. Fun loving, warm and innocent. It is a good distration from much of the troubling material that our youth are subjected to in todays atmosphere of commercial brainwashing.

Summary: Memories of Charlotte's Web
Review: Charlotte's Web is one of my favorite childhood movies. I recall My 1st grade teacher taking my entire class to see the film's premiere in 1973. Over the years, my family watched the film on TV. My late mother presented me with the the novel at the age of 12. The music and animation was marvelous. Charlotte's death still brings tears to my eyes. The movie is a treasure for generations.

Charlotte's Web centers around Wilbur and his friend, who is a spider, whose name is Charlotte (voiced by Debbie Reynolds). Wilbur (voiced by Henry Gibson) is a pig that doesn't want to be on the breakfast table... Truly an animated classic!

Summary: Still a Fabulous Movie
Review: Charlotte's Web may be lacking the advanced animation seen in more recent cartoons, but I highly recommend you see it! The story is gentle and inspiring, an endearing tale of the bonds of friendship. Wilbur the Pig is innocent and kind but not so much so that he comes across as boring or stupid. Charlotte the Spider, who becomes his friend, is a fiesty character that rallies the entire barnyard in an effort to save Wilbur from the butcher's block. I especially liked Templeton the Rat, who was voiced by comedian Paul Lynde. Templeton's wry observations made me smile and his grudging participation in the scheme to save Wilbur kept me smiling. I enjoyed this movie almost as much as my children. We rank it high on our favorites list!

Review: E. B. White's beloved children's classic is brought to the screen is this animated film. This is the story of Wilbur, a pig who is scared because the time is coming when he is going to end up on someone's dinner table. But with the help of Charlotte, a spider that lives in his pigpen, we might just end up with a happy ending. Henry Gibson provides the voice for Wilbur, while Debbie Reynolds is Charlotte, Paul Lynde is Templeton and Agnes Moorehead is the Goose. This 1973 film comes from the Hanna-Barbera studio and represents by far their most artistic big screen effort. Not up to Disney's standards, but the result is a very good children's film that your young ones will love, just like they do the book.

Review: Everything is wrong in the disaster as all the charm, sadness and drama of this classic is gone. Charlotte should be a hairy spider with a Lucille LaVerne type voice, not a gorgeous arachnid with Miss Reynold's soothing tones. This is a story of friendship and self-sacrifice which is totally missing. And the tragic death of Charlotte, which is the highlight of the story, is simply glossed over. Along with The Cat in the Hat and The Grinch , Charlotte's Web is one of a trio of worst children's films of all time.

Summary: One of my favorite animated films ever!
Review: Hello all! I must first admit that I like a lot of the Disney animated films. Sleeping Beauty is probably my favorite. I also like a lot of the Japanese anime, of which Princess Mononoke and Ghost in the Shell and Akira are my favorites. This film, Charlotte's Web, is actually a 1970's Hanna-Barbara production and looks like one moreso than the graceful, delicate Disney animation style or techno Japanese style. That being said, I think this is one of the best animated films ever released. The reasons it succeeds are multi-fold. First, it is based on a classic children's story and is very faithful to the story. Furthermore, it does a superb job telling the story - Disney films tend to concentrate around special effects and musical production numbers nowadays, but Charlotte's Web emphasizes the story, which makes it a superior product. Granted, the animation is not up to Disney standard, but everything else is. Also, the songs are very good - I can still remember the lyrics and tunes now, even though it's been ages since I saw the film. The story is not childish and doesn't insult our intelligence - anyone who has read the EB White novel knows that the ending is rather poignant, and as I said, the film is quite faithful, as it deals with a lot of serious themes. To those who have not read the novel, it is basically about the friendship between a farm pig (Wilbur) and a common spider (Charlotte) and how she works to save Wilbur from the slaughterhouse. Okay, it's a strange concept for a novel or a film, but it works! And I'm excited about the upcoming DVD. I'm been waiting ages for this film to show up on DVD, and I'll be the first to buy it in my neighborhood! I highly recommend this film - your children will love it, and you will love it, too! If you don't believe me, pick up the classic children's novel first and read it. This is one of those rare occasions where the film is AS GOOD AS the original award-winning book.
