Summary: A sequel that's not a repeat.
Review: When I first rented this movie, I figured it would live up to Disney standards of animation, but I was afraid that the story was going to be much too close to the original story. There were definite similarities, but the story was original enough to stand on its own. Whereas the first movie reminded me of a twist on Shakespear's MacBeth or Hamlet, this one reminded me more of Romeo and Juliet with a happy ending. It's a definite must-have for those who love Disney animation.

Summary: Music, music, music
Review: When you try to follow a brilliant soundtrack like the one in the original film, it can be impossible.

Nobody seemed to tell the folks at Disney.

The soundtrack from Simba's Pride is exceptional from the get go. The opening "He Lives In You" is nothing short of spectacular.

I have since bought the CD so I can enjoy over and over again.

The second song "We Are One" is an exceptional duet with Simba and Naula. My 5 year old daughter and I sing it often.

To me, the real measure of any film for children is how often we hit the rewind, then play button on the VCR. This one is giving both buttons a heavy workout.

Thanks for not disappointing me Disney.

Summary: Great movie!
Review: I purchased the video for my son and he loves it so much, he watches it 3 times a day. I've always enjoyed Disney movies because they are simple and entertaining, so to all those critics who say that this movie is kind of juvenile, remember, it was intended for a younger audience. Get over yourselves.

Summary: The beginning was stupid, but it got better as it went on.
Review: The beginning made it look like the movie was meant for children and not anyone else, but right after the cubs got older it got a lot better. Some of the songs were really great, like the one when Kovu is banished from Pride Rock. It was really good overall, but it almost seems like it's not even a sequel to the Lion King because it's so different.

Summary: THIS FILM IS A MASTERPIECE OF IT'S OWN
Review: Quite frankly, as an animation student and devoted fan of that medium, I say Simba's Pride is a masterpiece in direct-to-video animated feature movies. Produced in the Disney annex in Australia, these foreign artists have shown us that great talent in animation is found around the world and not only in Tinseltown alone. Truly great storyline and music, wonderfully rendered characters, an extraordinary talented cast, and breath-taking animation galore are all the ingredients of this powerful film. I will recommend this movie, not only to young watchfull eyes, but to adults who appreciate good art as well. Visually enthrilling, and literalry entertaining, a must-have to anyone who loves the art of animation. -From an animator to audience.

Summary: I think it forgot some stuff like mentioning Simba's mother.
Review: This movie wasn't as powerful as the first because of how things were forgotten. Simba's mother wasn't anywhere in the story and wasn't even anounced as dead or alive anywhere. Also the cool hyenas which were really displayed in the years of the first movie weren't mentioned. Maybe just in one 6-word sentence by Nuka but thats it!! I really expected more from Timon an Pumbaa because of their major roles. It needed more suspense throughout the movie. Boring plot and layout. Other then those things, it was great in the beginning with that powerful song" He Lives in You". I hope they make atleast one more Lion King movie but not any more than that because it will lose it's charm. Make an interesting plot like making Zazu more in the movie along with Simbas mother. Also make the Hyenas return because the were dope!!!!!
