Summary: It's A Great Film!
Review: I think the movie was great! My mom rented it for me and we watched it on a Saturday night! I think the story teaches us not only that love conqueres all it teaches about how we judge people too quickly like when Simba judged Kovu, how sometimes parents are too high strung like Simba as he kept Kiara from discovering herself, and it teaches how to let the past go and to carry on. The characters were great and my favortive was Kovu because he's kinda like me always the underdog. All the new characters, Kiara, Vitianni, Nuka, and Ziara add color to the movie as well. If you are looking for a movie that will show your kids that juding others before knowing all the facts about them is wrong then this is a great movie for you!

Summary: A disapointing sequel to a good movie
Review: A rather boring and predictable movie. They shouldn't have cut so many scenes. It leaves things unexplained like why so many lions were outcasts when the only bad lion in the first movie, Scar, was killed.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Pretty good
Review: I thought that the plot was a little too close to the first one in the beginning, but then got better in the end. It had a good plot to it and came across very strong. It was easy to follow and I think it would be easy to follow for a toddler.

Summary: Good for a made for video sequel but lacks the charm of 1st
Review: I didn't know what to exepct when I first saw this. I am no kid but enjoyed the first Lion King a lot and must have seen it at least a dozen times within a short period of time. It's hard not to compare the first Lion King to this one as they are both connected and when you compare the huge $300 million hit to this made for video sequel.. well that just took away a little from it and that could be why this sequel just doesn't have the same heart and feeling that the first one did. The songs for example in the first are all what can be called classic scores making for a brilliant soundtrack that has sold millions. The songs in Simba's Pride defenatly lack the creativity and emotion and came off more like something written by the people who do the songs for Saturday Morning Cartoons. New and returning characters were a plus in this as what Lion King fan wouldn't want to see the characters we all fell in love with once more? New characters like Kovu, Kiara, Vitani, Zira and Nuka are all well done and given great personalities. The only problem with some of the characters is the voices they choose as I didn't feel Kiara and Kovu's adult voices were as good as Nuka and Vitani's came off as but that's a small minus to the new characters. The backgrounds and the way the characters are drawn are a step down too which sort of takes away from the effectiveness of this as a top quality sequel. The love story is a nice twist but also predictable in that Disney sort of way. The old characters were done perfectly but the lack of characters like Nala and Zazu were a disapointment and even the presence of Simba was reduced to make way for new characters. Timon and Pumba were funny in this but it seemed more like the writers couldn't find a place for them in this movie so they just became bumbling babysitters which I suppose kids would like anyway. This overall though is a good movie even if you didn't love the first Lion King this is something to see on a rainy day with your kids or friends just to see what happens next in the Simba story. I did have to fast forward through some of the songs like Upendi and My Lulaby as they became more annoying then enjoybale. Also for those that don't know parts were cut out of this sequel in the final stages and these missing scenes do make a difference as they explain a lot of stuff that doesn't quite make sense. The missing parts are available on the net somewhere and they explain more of the outlanders and make Nuka role that much more powerful. Why they removed these parts I don't know but leave it to Disney to over edit it's work. In closing defenatly see it and make your own judgements. Remember though that this probably won't be as special as the first was as you just can't beat the first but it is actually enjoyable with some good battles and good character development. Just have the Fast Forward button ready to get through some of the songs and some of the boring parts.

Summary: One outstanding video!
Review: I really think that this video was good. In the Loin King I think the opening song was better than Loin King 2's. So I rate this spetacualar video 4 stars.

Summary: A wonderful family movie; brillant music and performances
Review: This is a wonderful family movie. I purchased it for my two and a half year old daughter but I watch it as often as she does--at least three times a day! The soundtrack is brillant and really sets the overall tone of the movie. Simba and Kiara are great! The plot was easy to follow for a toddler and intense enough for an adult. I recommend this movie for any family, any child or any adult. It is a great love story and drama all in one! Thumbs up! I really need a Lion King III:???!!!.

Summary: Summarry of the movie
Review: This movie was pretty good. I don't really like the music, though. The idea of the story is very good. It is about how Simba's daughter Kiara and her lover Kovu try to make a better relationship between the Outsiders and the Pride Landers.Recommended.

Summary: Disney does it again!
Review: I felt this was as well done if not better than the first. The music again was fabulous. The characters were cute and the story line was a great continuation of the first. Disney really brings the circle of life thing together in this second film. I loved the way they made Kiara a little replica of her dad Simba. I dont feel the absence of the hyena's was any great loss, they were ok for the first one but weren't missed in the second one. My family and I have watched it over and over and just love it!!!

Summary: Pales in comparison to the original.
Review: This one looks like it's never going to get off the ground, but actually picks up about half way through and becomes a worthwhile watch, but by then it is far too late to take this one past the 2 star category. I felt like I would have been better off by just watching the original Lion King over again instead of spending my time with this average at best sequel.
