Rating: Summary: THE PRINCE OF EGYPT, a true family film Review: This animated film is one of the last remainig family friendly films in America. I have personally seen this film at least ten times at theatres all over. This movie contains very little sexual innuindo, in fact the only thing that is sexual about the whole film is the way that one of the characters dresses (Zippora, Mosses' wife). Also this film is very close to the Biblical story, although it has some artistic licences taken on it. The music is FABULOUS, the opening number will keep you in comatose for so long that you will not even notice the time flying by. A definate 2 thumbs up!
Rating: Summary: Fairly Valiant Effort, but not Disney Par Review: Also, let me point out if I had the choice, it would be more of a 2.5...not just a 2. Bravo to Dreamworks for trying TOO HARD. Animation was inconsistent, although at sometimes fluid. The CGI was GREAT as a 3-D work, but it was AWFUL as a piece of traditional animation. The red sea didn't blend in at all with the normal animation and stuck out just as badly as the CGI in Anastasia did. The film was overall mostly enjoyable, there were 2 good songs, the rest I cringed all the way through. Worth a rent, but not worth the buy I'd say.
Rating: Summary: This movie was an excellent family movie. Review: As a mother of 2 small children, constantly searching for entertainment that will interest and enlighten my children, I found that this movie, THE PRINCE OF EGYPT, did both, as well as keep my husband and myself riveted to the screen. Our family's background is in the Judeo-Christian faith, we found the movie to be inspiring and very up-lifting. In a world where violent video games and music videos that are saturated with sex, this movie was a real treat for every member of our family. For any parent that is looking for a film to sit down and watch with their family...THE PRINCE OF EGYPT is that movie. Signed, a satisfied film goer.
Rating: Summary: Awesome Review: We waited a while before we saw the movie in the theater because of all the hype, but we heard so many good things about it, we decided we had to see it. I'm glad we did. I cried throughout the entire thing: when Moses' mother put him in the river; when Pharoah's wife found him; when Moses found out the truth about his heritage; during the Plagues; after the Death of the Firstborn; when the Hebrews began their Exodus out of Egypt. The soundtrack is part of what makes this movie so, well, *moving*, and the animation is absolutely fantastic.
Rating: Summary: What I expected Review: Going into this movie I was hoping that it would not be preachy, and would be as impartial as a biblical movie can get. To this extent I was pleased, the movie was translated excellently, and I didn't leave the theater with the thought that God was being rammed down my throat. I happen to like God, but no preachiness) I enjoyed this movie, but I wasn't left with any lasting impression, I probably would never see it again. Not because it was bad, just because once was enough. I wasn't moved but i wasn't displeased. It was worth the price of admission, but not a repeat viewing. As far as animation, Dreamworks did a respectable job, but aside from the wonderful parting of the Red Sea scene, they still have a way to go to catch up with Disney's ability. (Check out Tarzan) Hopefully Dreamworks animations keeps improving, because they are off to a promising start. To wrap up, a Good film, but not one that will captivate you and cause you to watch over and over.
Rating: Summary: Cool Review: This movie was ok. But I think Mulan was better. Don't expect Price of Egypt to have any humorous parts in it.
Rating: Summary: This movie will restore your faith in god! Review: Watching this movie, together with my kids brought tears to my eyes. For reasons that I become a witness to my childrens transformation from being innocent beings to future God fearing people. I strongly reccomend this to parents who wants their children to know the meaning of christian life no matter what religion or sect. It has succesfully depicted the story of Moses in the bible therefore this movie is very reliable in the sense that it will not distort the facts whatsoever. I suggest that parents should watch the movie with their kids so that they can re-aquaint themselves to the one and only God in heaven, aswell as explain some of the movie sequences to the children whenever there is a need for it. You'll enjoy it immensely!
Rating: Summary: One of the greatest films of all time! Review: A beautiful version of the biblical tale of Moses. This movie inspires faith for all those who believe in miracles.
Rating: Summary: Prince of egypt, the best movie ive ever seen. Review: When I first saw the prince of egypt it was dec19 1998. While I was watching the movie I felt realy proud of how they made this movie. I was pleased by the way dreamworks transelated this into a movie. Also with the animation and sound it was great. Also I was very pleased that at the end of this movie there were three notes written, 2 from the book of exodus and 1 from the holy Quran. Watch this movie it's amazing and believe in what you are reading or hearing or even seing. By the way I whent to see this movie three times.
Rating: Summary: When the waters part, the world opens up to a new hope. Review: In anticipation for the release of this movie, I was both hopeful and confident that it would live up to my expectations. From the opening scene to the end credits, my eyes remained on the screen with constant amazement. The movie both tells the story as accurately as possiable, and in doing so, it helps to add to the knowledge not yet known. I reccomend this movie to anyone who appreciates the bible and animation done at its best.
