Summary: One of Disney's best classics
Review: "The Sword in the Stone" is one of my top 5 favorite Disney films of all time. A young orphan boy who is bossed around too much by his family, meets Merlin, a marvelous wizard who befriends the boy and teaches him many great lessons. Soon Merlin, Wart, and Merlin's educated pet owl, Archimedes, are all having fun and spending a lot of valuable time together. These lessons and the magic wonders of Merlin could help the boy succeed instead of fail like his whole family is pretty much doing. Also, there's another great mystery. Whoever removes a mysterious sword from the stone will become King of England.Everything about "The Sword in the Stone" is great. I've seen just about all the Disney films and I definitely have to say that "The Sword in the Stone" is the funniest one of all the ones I've seen. Archimedes the owl with his grouchy personality and the squirrel chases are especially hilarious. Also, Merlin will change himself and Wart to a fish, squirrel, and later change Wart into a bird, and those are some of the most memorable parts of the movie. The wizard duel close to the end of the movie is the most memorable and it's also exciting. "The Sword in the Stone" also has good music, especially the song that Merlin and Wart sing while they're transformed into fish, "Two and fro, stop and go, that's what makes the world go round." I've been watching "The Sword in the Stone" all my life. Now I'm 20 and I still like watching it every now and then. It's not just a movie for kids, it's for anybody no matter how old you are. "The Sword in the Stone" is entertaining, funny, and it never gets old. I recommend anybody to get this movie, it's a timeless classic.

Summary: 3 stars for format...
Review: 4 stars for the movie, 3 for the DVD. Love the movie. Remember it from my youth. Highly recommended for young aspiring kings and princes. It's a laughter-filled romp, and Disney at his best for great storytelling, and great character development. However, this DVD gets only three stars from me because it is in Full Screen format, when the original was widescreen. As usual in these cases, in the tiny print at the bottom of the box, the dreaded words for any 16:9 TV owner: "This presentation has been modified from the original. It has been formatted to fit your TV screen". You'd think by now, the studios would get a clue, ESPECIALLY Disney, and release either the original with letterbox, or put both on the disc like so many do... Does anyone here like "Pan and Scan"? My complaint ends there. It is otherwise a wonderful film to share with your kids... I enjoyed watching it again after so many years, this time with my four-year-old son. We laughed and marvelled together over the antics and magic of the Wizard Merlin, and the adventures of young "Wart". He was ready to see it again as soon as it ended.

Summary: Disney's 18th Animated Masterpiece!
Review: This 60's Disney film was the last one that Walt Disney cooperated in all the way throughout it's making and theatrical release, he died in the middle of the making of The Jungle Book. The film is really great, and highly entertaining, although not a film I would personally watch over and over. This is the story of Merlin, a kind but a bit grumpy enchanter, on a quest to teach young Arthur that intelligence and strategy are more powerful than brutal strenght, and to teach him about science and math and how to read and write so that someday he'll become the greatest king in England. The DVD is pretty decent, although the bonus features don't really relate to the film, I have to say that they are just enough to make this DVD acceptable.

Summary: "Big news from London" The Sword in the Stone is Great!
Review: The Sword in the Stone is simply the best Disney animated film of all time! It's full of wonderful and unique animation. I can't stand how cookie cutter and overdone their current stuff is. (ie. Tarzan, could his chin get any bigger?) But the film is also full of brilliant well developed characters. Merlin and Archimedes are great fun as they bicker like a couple of siblings about how to teach Wart to think for himself. Wart is great fun and even side characters like Pelinor are full of quirks. (twitching his beard when ever he speakes) You'll understand when you see the movie. Give this film a chance and you'll love it. Leonard Maltin is either writing reviews from his Critics Cliff Notes or he accidently stuck his copy of "The Lion King II" in the VCR, because "Sword.." is great. The only reason I can think why people wouldn't like it is because we have forgot how to appreciate subtlety. This movie is great fun for both young and old. I'm 24 years old and I'm still watching it!

Review: This is my #2 favorite Disney Movie.Sleeping Beauty is My #1 favorite,but just because it is my second favorite does not mean it is not a good movie,because this movie is absolutely great Especially Merlin.He steal's the show with his hilarious Magic spells and his extream intelligence.Merlin's wise talking pet owl Archimedes (who is voiced by the same person as rabbit on winnie the pooh) also is very funny who helps Wart (Future king Arthur) during movie,especially when Merlin turns him into a fish .This is a very good movie your whole family will enjoy.

Review: I remember the first time I saw this movie. I've always loved Arthurian legends, and in its usual style, Disney puts aside many historical facts in favor of a more entertaining movie, fun for the whole family. Sword in the Stone ranks up in the top 3 of my favorite Disney movies of all time. The characters are well done, Merlin is hilarious, and the artwork and colors are beautiful, making this movie great scenery for the younger kids, and great, enriching fun for the older ones.

Summary: A Classic Disney Film that is sometimes overlooked.
Review: This may not be as iconic as some of the other films that the Walt Disney company has made, but it is definately a classic. This gives us a more lighter whimsical look on Camelot. The voice talents are great. The animation is in the classic 60s style that Disney was into at the time. The whole movie is fun. See it, it is not a masterpiece landmark of an animated film but very very good indeed.

Review: This movie was made about 2 years before I was born and I never saw it as a child but I remember watching The Sword in the Stone in a theater with my family when Disney rereleased it to the theaters sometime in the 1980's and it was a good movie and I enjoyed the animation and the cute catchy songs and I highly recommend it.

Review: I LOVE THE SWORD IN THE STONE!! I'm 15, and it's been one of my absolute favorite movie ever since I was a kid. I'm so happy that its come out on DVD! To me you can't help loving it, and you certainly can't stop loving it even when you grow up. Its absolutely hilarious! Who could possibly argue with that? The songs in it are very catchy, the characters are unforgettable, and its a great twist on the traditional Arthurian legend. It may not be one of more famous Disney movies, but to me it is one of the best.
