Summary: One of the best Disney movies ever!
Review: I dont believe how anyone could say that this is a bad movie, I was laughing so hard I was crying! This was a true masterpiece, a film that will be long remembered. I usually don't like Disney movies, but this was a great one, one of a kind!

Summary: a really good story
Review: i though this was like one of disney's best films! it was super funny and it was related to this day and age so most everyone can get the hummor. i watched it with my six year old sister and my mum and they both liked it, as well as me a 13 year old, so that just proves that it really is meant for everyone. i think that this HAS to be one the best story's that they have put together. i think it is right up there with Cinderella and the Lady and the Tramp. i liked it so much i asked 4 it for my birthday!! it was really one of the best pictures i have ever seen by disney and i don't know how people can think any thing other of it. i really would strongly recomemd it to ne one that was looking to buy a humorous movie that is excellet for all ages.

Summary: An underappreciated Disney film
Review: "Hercules" is an underappreciated Disney film. The music is superb, the animation audacious, and the story moves crisply and nimbly, with witty dialogue and well-developed characters.

Summary: horrible! Worst Disney movie ever!
Review: This movie proves that Disney does not care about the stories they copy! The Lion King was closer to Hamlet then this was to the original myth. Every single mythological character was messed up horribly! The Titans are monsters, Pegasus is a basically flying dog, and the gods are silent shadows of their former self! I expected to find some things different, like not having Hercules killing his wife and Family, but I at least expected some Labors! The jokes are either for people who know Latin, or for five-year-olds, nothing in between. And to top it off the animators tried to make a stylized slanted look to the animation, which ended up making it look like a Saturday Morning cartoon! There are much better Animated movies out of there like Prince of Egypt, Mulan, Aladdin, Antz, and a Bugs Life. Stay away from this movie!

Summary: "Hercules"
Review: Absolutely a must to see! I urge for everyone to see this fantastic movie. Disney's last two films were a real disappointment until " Hercules" came along. I was really upset that they didn't write up a love song duet for the movie as Disney always does, though " Go the Distance" made up for it alot. This movie forces people to be better, to look inside themselves for what they're really worth, and to become a " true hero".

Summary: The Story of . . . Jesus?
Review: Wow, Disney really did it. they took the story of Jesus Christ and, by changing a couple names here and there, made it into an action-packed comedy for the whole family. See the hero is the son of God, and he gets sent to earth as a baby and grows up not knowing his father is God. He becomes a pious lad, helping people in need and even befriending a woman who society has outcast for feeling free with her feminine wiles. Meanwhile, the "Lord of the Underworld" is trying to stop our hero by attempts to destroy and tempt him into changing sides. Ultimately, our hero must experience Death in order to ascend to Heaven and gain his rightful place next to God and protect us all. Sound familiar? Well, one thing's for sure . . . IT AIN'T THE STORY OF HERCULES!!! But, as we all know, that doesn't matter a wet slap to Disney! Thank you Diney, for destroying yet another well-loved story by changing every aspect of it (including the enemies!) in order to make another good-defeats-evil-by-killing-said-evil story. by the way, if you kill Death, wouldn't that have serious consequences?

Phil!

Summary: From Zero to Hero
Review: Hercules is a total knockout - for the first half of the movie. The second half falls flat. Hercules has one of the best animated film scores ever. To promote the film, Disney had a traveling "troupe" of singers in Greek costume perform at malls around the country. The executives apparently even appreciated the incredibly orignal gospel-style songs with witty and joyful lyrics. The rollicking songs get a big "Amen!" The fabulous Muses are wonderful creations.

The story involves Hercules as an awkward boy trying to fit in with the humans who have adopted him. After he inadvertently causes a disaster at the marketplace, Herc strikes out on his own, and is shocked to discover his Mt. Olympus heritage. Megara, the female romantic interest, is not very likeable as a fallen woman redeemed by love. You feel Herc deserves better.

Since Aladdin, Disney has used celebrities as character voices. Hercules in particular benefits from this, with James Woods ad libbing hilariously as Hades, lord of the underworld, and Danny DeVito, who brings heart and laughs as "Phil" the Satyr.
