Summary: One of the best 80s movies
Review: This great movie is up there with Batman and Scarface as the best movies in the 1980's.

Summary: Can't learn karate from a book
Review: Great movie with great mix of comedy, action, drama and good martial arts. One of the best scenes was when Mr Myagi beat up all five of the cobras, although in real life he didn't know squat about karate. I don't think Ralph Macchio did either for that matter, but regardless it was still a great movie.

Summary: The movie was touching but I WANT TO SEE KARATE KID 2 ON DVD

Summary: Very heartwarming, indeed!
Review: This movie is very suspensing. Pat Morita kicks karate a** in this film. I also like the songs in the movie, such as the one when Daniel is fighting in the tournament, the one in which some of the lyrics are, "You're the best around. Nothing's gonna ever keep you down." In this movie, Elizabeth Shue, who plays Ali, looks like a fashion model. This movie deserves an A+, not only for the karate content, but for some of the actors' brilliant performances, such as Martin Kove, Pat Morita, and William Zabka.

Summary: johnny's quiff is second to none
Review: THE KARATE KID is a cultural institution. Never before has coolness been personified more than in Mr. Miyagi. The final shot of Miyagi at the very end, showing a wry and knowing smile is the film's complete pinnacle. In contrast to the squeaky-clean Laruso and the oh-so-very-hard Cobra Kai posse, complete with Johnny's frightening quiff and headband, Miyagi emerges as one of the most important figures of the 20th Century. There is no mercy in this dojo. Nor is there any fear, apparently.

"Put him in a body-bag" and "He wants to learn Karate!" are particularly excellent pieces of over-acting. I can't believe Laruso's gonna fight. Also, why didn't that crazy chinese guy get further in the tournament? He had talent. We will never know. By the way, it's Miya-Gi and not Miya-Ji - just to clear that up before the fat compere embarrasses Laruso any further. I'm off the sand the floor, paint the fence etc.

Summary: An awesome 80's flick!
Review: You just want to stand up and kick some Cobra-Kai butt after watching this movie! This is by far my favorite movie of all time. Daniel Laruso finds friendship in the most unlikely place, from Mr. Miyagi. He teaches Daniel karate and acts as a father figure to him. Ali is played by Elisabeth Shue, one hot girl. Daniel is so lucky. This movie mixes drama, action and martial arts better than any movie I have ever seen. This is one great movie!

Summary: Classic 80s guy down on his luck defeats the bullies.
Review: This, simply put, is the best movie ever made. I've seen it at least 100 times, and I still love it. It has such a classic theme. The new kid gets picked on and beat down over and over, but finally picks himself up and defeats the bullies in the end and gets the chick on top of it all. Daniel and Mr. Myagi make a great team. On top of the great theme and acting is the great "pump you up" 80s beat music. You just can't beat this legend of a lifetime.

Summary: A truly great movie
Review: This movie is not really about fighting and about karate. It is a movie about the relationship between a man and a boy. Not a gay relationship, but a really beautiful bond that develops between the two most unlikely people. The man not only teaches the boy how to use karate to regain his honor and self respect, but in the process, the boy learns how to love and respect others.

Summary: True Karate movie
Review: It's been more than 10 years since I saw this movie for the first time, and yet, from time to time I still see it like as if it was that first day. The story is very good. A young boy stranger in the neigbourwood has some troubles when dating the former girlfriend of a gang leader. Young Daniel asks help from a Okinawa Karate master, and soon learns that Karate is more than a method of fighting, it's a way of life. Anyone who knows a little about the martial arts subject can tell you this film is one of the few out there who truly tries to follow the true spirit of Karate - knowing yourself. A great film, the best in the series, and one of the best of the kind.
