Summary: Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!
Review: I just can't say enough about this movie. It is the first Disney animated movie I took my three year old to see at the theater and she fell in love. The music, animation, voices...oh, just everything. Buy this video.

Summary: English DD soundrack is ruined
Review: Just want everybody know that the English Dolby Digital soundtrack on this disc is ruined, as during mastering they combined left front/rear chanels. It means that you will hear the same thing in the front left and front rear. Good Luck.

Summary: TARZAN swings!
Review: Disney has apparently decided to flex their DVD muscle with the release of Tarzan. After several disappointing (bare-bones and overpriced) DVD's from their animated classics archive, Disney has created a masterpiece! The transfer is one of the cleanest I've ever seen. Enhanced for 16:9, bonus materials include previews, a Tarzan storybook, DVD-ROM materials and a couple Phil Collins videos. English, French and Spanish language tracks are available. Phil Collins even sings in French or Spanish on the respective tracks. VERY COOL! To the folks at Disney, congratulations on a spectacular release of which you can be proud. To consumers- BUY IT!

Summary: Great Movie - But Flawed Audio!
Review: The movie is great, I like it at home as much as I did in the theater, BUT...There appears to be a glitch with the sound. The front left and rear right audio channel is SWITCHED. Disney is aware of this problem (on 1.5 million disks) and isn't doing ANYTHING about it!

Summary: Excellent Video but Sloppy Audio Work on DVD
Review: It was my first time to watch the Disney-rendition of this movie. Overall, it was fun and exciting to watch; especially recommended for kids...just don't encourage them to go near a gorilla, though. The video technicals were as awesome as I expect them to be (two thumbs up!). Somebody in the recording studio made a sloppy sound recording on the DVD, though: (a) No sub-woofer recording (WATCHOUT, it's only 5.0 and NOT 5.1) (b) Some left and right sounds were mixed-up. I'd recommend this only for the curious and not for the serious DVD collectors. Otherwise, just rent it.

Summary: Jane Porter is Ariel in the trees!
Review: If you loved the lively, warmly articulated, work Glen Keane lavished in creating Ariel, The Little Mermaid...if you believe that Disney has never exceeded itself since Mermaid or Beauty and the Beast, yet yearn for more of same...THIS DVD will MAKE YOUR YEAR! Yes, there's a great story, splendid blending of CGI and artist-rendered animation, award-winning music, and the list goes on...That stuff is obvious. Just like Mermaid and B&B, every frame is loaded with such warmth, emotion, realism, that it can't help but leave a subliminal impression while watching at full frame-rate, that there's far more unfolding than just computer-generated lines and colors. The animators and voice talent have got to be drawing on their own courtship experiences - and wonderful, warm courtships they must be - as Tarzan and Jane's every gesture and glance, the articulation of faces, eyes and hands, everything! tell far more than I can write. Those who have this DVD, try single-stepping frame by frame when these two are together. Maybe I say this because my wife and I still feel for each other the way these two behave .. even after more than 20 years of marriage, but hey! More folks should be so lucky! Get this one ESPECIALLY if you have NO children!

Summary: Great movie for the whole family
Review: The first time I saw this movie I wasn't able to see it all the way because I had my neice and my nephew with me who were restless but the second time I saw it I loved it. It is a great movie and one everyone should see.

Summary: Tarzan
Review: How can I type my review without seeing it

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Of all movies to see, why see Tarzan?
Review: This animated film combines all of Disney's strengths: beautiful art, involving characters, and masterful, fluid storytelling. While it follows the "disney formula" for the most part, it is still a refreshing telling of the classic story. The animation surpasses anything they have previously achieved. The movie is a bit rushed, and the comedic sidekicks detract from the flow. Yet the film has an amazing impact. The music, visual art, and story are engorssing, Tarzan is a sure fire winner.

Summary: 4 star movie - 2 stars for previews + 1 star for extras = 3
Review: More proof that Disney doesn't understand or respect its customers: Miles and miles of previews (and ads!) detract from this otherwise action-packed film. This is the first DVD we've bought that puts the previews up front (like on their videos) where they're just as hard to skip. Disney: I'm *only* going to buy your best movies, and your Commando Marketeers *won't* change my mind. On the plus side, the bonus materials on this DVD are nice -- especially the Dinosaurs preview. As for the movie itself, the music is great but the action is over the top at times.
