Summary: The best Disney animation by far!
Review: This was a spectacular film. Disney has truly outdone itself on this one. The film was animated really well. There was character development and a plot. I cried and I laughed. This is a wonderful film.

Summary: Disney's magnum opus.
Review: Tarzan represents Disney's first leap into a more adult-oriented animated movie (for a G-rating anyway) and for a first leap, it sure is one hell of a good one. I was a bit skeptical at first, after witnessing Disney's last films, the mediocre Hercules and the cartoony Mulan. But after witnessing the multiple trailers and ads that Disney pitched to the public, I got a bit curious.

And it's damn lucky that I got curious. Disney's Tarzan is a masterpiece on all levels. The animation is better than Disney's past efforts, and is accentuated by the extensive use of a new "deep-canvas" technique. Tarzan's agility and swiftness is exemplified in dramatic form with the 3D backgrounds, and action scenes rival The Matrix's, with some of the best camera work ever seen, animated or not.

The story of Tarzan is beautifully touching and tear-jerking, even more so than in past Disney films. There is a neat amount of foreshadowing in this movie, making it very moving when it tries to be.

Perhaps the greatest achievement of this movie is its music. In addition to some of the best work composer Mark Mancia has ever done, pop-artist Phil Collins lends his experienced voice and masterful lyrics to the movie. The resultant music is powerful and affecting. Phil's background vocals make for a welcome and needed change over Disney's usual singing characters.

All the above aspects factor into Tarzan for one of the most moving, engrossing, and downright goosebumb-inducing, cinematic experiences ever crafted. Disney takes the boring Tarzan formula and transforms it into something much deeper than anyone ever thought possible. Never presume too much with Disney flicks again, if Tarzan is a portent of things to come.

Summary: Pretty good except...
Review: The effects and animation are wonderful in this movie. Disney is moving a mile a minute with their technology. The plots are mediocre these days, but that's rarely an important issue with childrens' movies. I guess the only thing that really bugged me about this movie was Rosie O'donnel's voice. She is so annoying and she can't sing!

Summary: Great, great stuff!
Review: Disney is again at the top. After rather lousy Hutchback of Notre-Dame, Hercules and not so good Mulan - here is finally some great stuff. This is one of the best Disney's cartoons. I highly recommend it! The music is also phenomenal - congratulations Phil - I just loved every single song!

Summary: Tarzan
Review: A Great film, but unfortunate for the four minutes commercial begining of the DVD. Graphic done by Disney's Studio is great, I think this is the best animation they have done to date. If any one would like to buy this DVD; He or She sould buy the soundtrack as well. Commercial begining of the DVD killed the two stars; I think this is a insult for the DVD Technology

Summary: Forced commercials, think twice about Disney DVD's
Review: My 4 yr old really enjoys this movie, but the forced commercials are very annoying. This hits my biggest dislike of the DVD format, that the player is under control of the disk programming. Disney shows a lack of respect for their customers. This was my first Disney DVD, and I will be very selective in the future.

Summary: Tarzan, mah man!
Review: The movie is great; perhaps the best animation ever done by the Disney studios, but... if the story takes place in Africa, how come there's no black people in it? Not one character, not one voice, not one singer. WHY?

Summary: Forced commercials ruin DVD.
Review: This is a great film for kids! Unfortunately, Disney has chosen to make the DVD in such a way that you are forced to watch about 4 minutes of commercials before the movie. Forcing children to watch commercials does not seem appropriate to me.

Summary: No Way!
Review: I rented this DVD for my kids but would NEVER buy any DVD the forces my kids to watch commercials. Greed, Greed, Greed, the Rat strikes again. Oh ya the movie was beautiful...too bad.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: FORCED TO WATCH PREVIEWS!
Review: If you like to watch previews before you view the main feature, then by all means get this dvd. The lame execs at Disney have made a decision on your behalf that you are better off watching these previews. There is no way to skip, fast forward, jump to the menu to avoid the ads. They have even exploited the dvd technology to prevent you from stopping the movie, how lame is that! Imagine if every dvd you buy contains at least 4 or more minutes of previews that you are forced to view, imagine real hard because if Disney is allowed to get away with ti, other movie distribution houses are sure to follow.
