Summary: I was saved by a man in a loin cloth.
Review: It's amazing how fluid Disney animation is. There are so many thing in motion that it is really unbelieveable.I'm somewhat suprised that this film recieved a G rating, but that can be a good thing considering that theres enough subject matter to keep even adults entertained. DVD is definitly how animation should be seen. My only complaint is that Disney could have placed the previews as an option on the DVD menue instead of at the start of the disk. After watching the film several times the previews become a bit much to endure when all you want to do is get directly to the movie.

Summary: Best way to view TARZAN
Review: Give yourself a treat. watch the trailer for Toy Story 2 at the beginning of the TARZAN DVD disc on the new Zenith 64 inch rear screen hi-def rear-projection TV set. Make sure the contrast is turned down to 26, the brightness down to 32 and the saturation to 35. put the color temperature on "medium". make sure you watch in a dark room. preferable use the component-in video feed. this set also upgrades all signals to near hi-def 1080i quality. also phenominal is "a bug's life" and "space jam" i saw "rudy" on DirecTV on this set, and the focus and deep colors were incredible.

Summary: fun, fun, and more fun.
Review: I loved Tarzan. I think it is touching, sweet, very funny and original. It differres from the actual book but it ceries a very important message about love and tolerance to every body who is different from us. I think it is very important message to give our children. Moreover, the musick was great, and the way the Tarzan mooved in the trees is very unusual and cool. I love cartoones in general and this one in particualr, and I am 23 years old.

Summary: Buena Vista to offer corrected pressing?
Review: As of this morning Buena Vista Home Entertainment customer service (1-800-723-4763) was collecting names, addresses and phone numbers. They admitted to the audio defect but were waiting for clear instructions from above on how to proceed. Later callers report that they were told that a corrected pressing would be offered in exchange and that owners could either send in their current copy now or leave their information and be contacted later when exact information was available on the release of the corrected pressing.

Summary: Gotta love Disney
Review: What a great movie. Enjoyed it immensely, didn't cringe like I did through much of Hercules. Kudos to Disney for choosing Tony Goldwyn as Tarzan's voice! Though he often plays a villain in movies, he has a soothing, easing voice. Love the man. Love this movie!

Summary: Classic Add to Shelves
Review: While one must admit that not everything that Disney does is great or even decent, this is one to see and add to your shelves (ie-Sound of Music, Mary Poppins). The imagery will blow you away and great for little kids. Most of the movie is told without words, but uses superior graphics and music to keep you there (And actually manages it for the first time ever). Pure entertainment and far above what Disney is currently putting out.

Summary: Loved it!
Review: The best Disney Movie since the Lion King! Rates right up there with the best, an instant favorite.

Summary: Excellent animation, music, songs and story
Review: Despite the inevitable "Disney formular", it is a great animation achievement. Let's face it, you can't expect Disney to really break away from their formula without the parents with young kids screaming murder. Within the confine of the formula, I think Disney did a marvelous job in entertaining the adults as well as the young tots. So stop being a purist and just enjoy a great animation feast.

Tarzan is definitely one of the most "live-like" animation characters in history. The story is rushed at times, and the comic side-kicks can be distracting, and even annoying. But overall it is a powerful story, with powerful emotions and conflicts, great action, and very very touching. The scene with Tarzan and his ape mother brought me to tears, and I am a 30-something guy. The relationship between Tarzan and Jane is sexy and yet innocent, romantic and yet realistic.

As for the violence... Oh come on! I think Disney did a great job portraying violence in real life (but not excessive) without being encouraging or offensive. Death? Disney animation has always dealt with death and violence, starting from Snow White -- remember the Queen and her immenent death? How about Bambi's mother? How about the hundreds of Huns and Chinese soldiers who died in Mulan? Oh, at the end, Tarzan did not throw Clayton off a tall tree... watch carefully. Clayton was trying to get to Tarzan but Tarzan noticed the danger, and he was actually trying to save Clayton! Clayton did himself in because he was too obsessed. There's a lesson to be learn here. So I think the violence in Tarzan is very well done and serves as education... it is not at all gratuitous. I suggest parents discuss it with their young children.

One gripe about the DVD though. I totally agree with other reviewers about the annoying previews and ads. It's a totally unnecessary marketing ploy and will only alienate their customers.

Summary: Love it, but anyone have a stop @ 34:08?
Review: My family and I love this movie. This is especially true of my 3yr old daughter. I do have one compplaint about the DVD; It stops at 34:08 on both of our DVD players.

I have purchased 3 copies from 3 different retailers and all 3 have stopped at the same point: 34:08.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?
