Summary: Definitely a cute, classic movie that's still funny after..
Review: ..all these years. It's a nice simple, storybook type tale with alot charm and witty humor. Definitely should be a keeper disc. Anyone who has a childlike sense of humor will appreciate this film. Those with interests solely in UFC fighting events and WWF may not though mileage does vary. About the only thing I can say bad about this disc is the barebones treatment. But then, again..at the price it's being sold at, what else could one expect? As it is, it's still worth buying..even if just to see Andre the Giant start composing more rhymes. :)

Summary: One of my all time favorites
Review: When this movie first came out, the part with the ROUS (rodents of unusual size) freaked me out... so much that I stopped the movie there and didn't watch it again until a few years ago. So for a little less than 9 years, this movie sat in my parent's collection ignored. Then, during my sophomore year, I finally got the courage to watch it again. Since then, I wore out the copy my parents owned and had to buy my own.

If you like fantasy, watch it. It's a great tale with swordfights, giants, kings, queens, and poison with a fight between good and evil.

If you like comendy, watch it. It's so funny that it's hilarious... almost absurd at times.

If you like Cary Elwes, watch it. :)

If you want a good romance, watch it. It's one of those goosebumpy movies.

It seriously is one of my favorite movies... it may have scared me as a child, but I missed the wonderful, funny story with the great actors (lots of cameos, like Billy Crystal) and fun, quotable lines.

Summary: EXCRUCIATINGLY BORING -- A TIRED FAIRY TALE
Review: You don't need Sominex or any other sleeping pill if you are having trouble falling asleep. Just watch this excruciatingly boring film instead. You'll be catching those zzz's before 30 minutes elapse. This is one very boring movie.

Summary: As you wish!
Review: My next door neighbour came rushing over to our place one day many years ago and insisted that we all stop what we were doing and watch this movie. I have been watching it ever since. This is a wonderful movie with all the right (and essential) ingredients. Adventure, intrigue, swashbuckling Douglas Fairbanks Jnr would be dying to get involved in, odious villains, a dashing hero, a beautiful heroine and True Love. No one can go through life without having seen this movie AT LEAST once. If you don't do yourself a favour and buy this video, get down to your video store and hire this one tonight! You will not regret it.

Summary: Just Plain Fun
Review: This movie is just plain fun. Too much analysis will undermine the film's intent of providing pure, wholsome entertainment. Full of laughs, slapstick, deliberate over acting and such unbelivable treats as "rodents of unusual size" this fairy tale is a winner. Enough oneliner's to make viewing it twice a treat.

Summary: Can we say amazing?
Review: The beautiful scene play of this melodrama/comedy/thriller (can we say it?) should've won some award of some caliber. It is, in short, in my top 10 best films of all time :)

Summary: I didn't get it..., it is good, but for children!
Review: I don't know why people make so much fuss about this flick. It is kinda old for these days. I think it is quite a good film for kids. But that's it. It is not that funny, nor romantic.

Summary: No subtitles? Inconceivable!
Review: OK, so the movie's a bit hokey, and admittedly, there doesn't appear to have been much of a budget when it came to music, props or special effects, but this remains a wonderful gem of a movie. The big drawback is the DVD; there are no extras, and even worse, no English subtitles (which are a necessity to completely understand Andre the Giant). The print isn't in great shape either. It's worth the low price, but if you're stingy (or patient), wait for the collector's edition which hopefully will one day come.

Summary: Funny...Yet, boring.
Review: I've seen this movie on tv a lot and at first I enjoyed it thinking it was cute. But It isn't the greatest and got boring fast. I really don't suggest this movie to anyone.

Summary: No extras? Inconceivable!
Review: Any fan of this movie will probably want to hold off on purchasing this "no-frills" version of the William Goldman neo-classic until the inevitable "Collector's Edition" comes out...whenever.

Goldman, who wrote the award-winning screenplay for "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" and authored "Adventures in the Screen Trade" (standard reading for every Filmmaking 101 course), let his imagination run wild with "The Princess Bride", interspersing modern sensibilities into the fairy tale fantasy.

A collaborative effort, the actors (most notably Mandy Patinkin, Wallace Shawn, and Carey Elwes) as well as director Rob Reiner manage to breathe life into the storybook-like characters, making each of the cleverly written scenes all the more memorable.

While the movie is great entertaintainment for the entire family (doh, I can't believe I just said that), the shadow of a much better special edition on the horizon makes recommending this disc a bit of a catch-22.

Recommended, but at your own risk...
