Summary: Childhood memories of Christmas' Past
Review: Like the ghost of Christmas Past "Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol" conjures up memories of my childhood Christmas'. I recall waiting with great anticipation during the Christmas television season for this version of one of the most famous of Christmas stories. I remember my mother baking Christmas cookies and the wonderfull smell from the kitchen while I snuggled up on the couch watching Mr. Magoo stumble and bumble his way to the stage door entrance where he would take on the character of Scrooge. Perhaps what sets this version of "A Christmas Carol" apart from all the others is the music and lyrics. The music would rival any written for a Broadway musical.I await the re-release of this wonderful cartoon adaption of "A Christmas Carol" with the same childhood anticipation of Christmas' past.

Summary: The best animated version of "A Christmas Carol" ever made!
Review: Of all the different versions of Charles Dickens' classic ever made, this is the one that continues, for over 35 years (!), to stick in my memory as the one that made the most impact on me. I know it is just a cartoon, but what a cartoon it is! The classic story is portrayed in stirring simplicity. Many of us can say that this was our first introduction to Charles Dickens' work. I have spent the last 5 Christmases searching to replace my worn-out original copy. How many other cartoons can you think of that inspire a search so long? Please join us in urging the powers-that-be to reissue this classic. It just isn't Christmas without it!

Review: I've been searching for a copy of this for years. This is my favorite children's version of the Dickens' classic, and I'd love to have it for my collection. Hope they re-issue it soon...

Review: My mother used to love this movie, and rents it every year. I myself, also think it is wonderfull, and espesally enjoy the music. It has been imposable to find for as long as I can rember, I think it should be re-reliesed.

Review: This version of the Christmas classic is poignant and always brings a tear to my eye. The music is lovely - both moving and amusing - and makes the story even more touching. While I'm not a Mr. Magoo fan, Jim Backus is a very real Scrooge. It would be great to see this video made available again!

Summary: Wonderful version for kids of the classic Dickens story
Review: The story is told in a colorful, entertaining, simplified version with dear old bumbling, mumbling Mr. Magoo learning the lessons so important for us all. Not a cheapened, condensed version, but captivatingly and simply telling the story. I loved this as a child, hadn't seen it in over 15 years, and by chance found it on TV. I sincerely wish that kids today have a chance to see it, and wish that I can have a copy of this out-of-print video. Hopefully the publishers will once again make it available.

Review: My two best friends each said this was their favorite Christmas show from their childhood. I found many copies about two years ago at Suncoast, mall video chain but this Christmas, they tell me it's out of print. I'll definately be checking here to see if one becomes available.

Summary: Unique treatment with Magoo working to stage a classic story
Review: This is one of the favorite memories of my now adult (23 year old) daughter. Her eyes well up with tears each time she hears Magoo sing "I'm So Alone in the World". The inexpressible joy as he discovers he has lived through the night and discovered the real meaning of Christmas is shared by the viewer as a fresh enlivening of the truth of Christmas. People and family, charity, caring and sharing with others from the bounty of all you've been given. PLEASE make it available again.

Review: My whole family loves Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol. The music is wonderful. We have looked all over this Christmas for a copy and could not find one. My Husband and I have watched this film every year since we were young and look forward to seeing it every Christmas. It is a timeless story with wonderful characters. The stars who lend their voices to this film make it wonderful.

Review: As I stated above this video brings back many memories of Christmas. I saw the original on television as a child and I have tried for many years to find the complete uncut version on video. I would love to share this unique and wonderful musical version of A Christmas Carol with future generations and the current generation of children, who sometimes need a little reminder of the true meaning of Christmas, in a format they can easily comprehend. As I write this the video is currently unavailable on this site so I urge the publisher and any other parties with the proper capability to request this video be made avalible again, so it can be shared with the ones who mean the most to each of us. I would love to acquire additional copies to share with the little children in my family and the adults too, who also may, at times need a little reminder themselves of the true meaning of Christmas. This is truly a unique rendition of a beautiful story written by Charles Dickens and it deserves a proper place in the memories of Christmas Present and Christmas yet to come.
