Summary: A Wonderful Video for Girls
Review: I thought this movie was an absolutely perfect remake of the movie Cinderella. It shows girls that they don't have to wait for things to happen for them it shows they can go out and make things happen for themselves. Instead of being a whiney child, crying over what she once had Danielle makes the most of her situation and does the best that she can do. She shows girls that they can be dealt a horrible lot in life but it doesn't have to make them bitter or mean. It also shows girls that they can take care of themselves, be rough and tough yet be a lady on the inside where it counts.

Summary: Deconstructýon of a Fairy Tale
Review: Ever after is an impressive attempt at historicising and deconstructing a fairy tale. The novel, unlike the fairy tale, placed events in a historical context. It is France in the Sixteenth Century. More over, the Cinderella of the fairy tale is beautiful, fragile, dependant on the supernatural (magic), and a highly sentimental female; whereas the new Cinderella is every thing feminists want to see in a woman: she is smart, hardworking, has guts, and independent. I loved the scene when Prince Henry towards the end comes dashing to save her from her captor to be faced by a defiant disarrayed woman with dirty nails and dirt smeared face saying "I saved myself" thus rescinding the conventional tale and emptying it of all its male-superiority claims. The part where she rescues the Prince from the king of Gipsies and carries him on her shoulder says it all. Ever after is a film I would love to show to my students.

Summary: Cinderella meets Ally McBeal
Review: This real-to-life Cinderella, actually Danielle, shows that there was more to the little cinder girl than a sweet demure nature. She is bolder, more intelligent, and no wear near as big of a doormat for her stepmother and stepsisters. In the same respect the stepsister are a far cry from ugly and wicked, well, at least one of them is. The story centers around the love of a young girl for her father and also for her prince. But, can a prince love a girl who has no father, and sleeps in the ashes? The lovers seem unlikely, except for the help of one painter, who shall remain nameless. This movie shows that true love conquers all, and, what goes around comes around.

Summary: The most wonderful movie ever made
Review: Ever After is by far the best movie ever made. Period. This movie grabs you right away with its real-life story line. This is a movie that could have really happened. Drew Barrymores's character is the person we all dream of being able to be. And of course Dougray Scott is to die for. But the best part about it I think is the absence of vulgarity. And yet it is such a compelling plot that anyone young or old, male or female will be able to appreciate this film. It is clean but definitely not dull. Just a personal note: Being an avid horse-lover and rider I fell in love with the horses in this film. Not only are they gorgeous, but they are handled and ridden so well which can be a rarity in movies. All in all, this movie is absolutely perfect! You must see it if you haven't!!!!!!!

Summary: The Best Romantic Movie I have seen in a Long time! : )
Review: I have to admit I am not all to fond of Drew But after viewing this movie she has changed my mind! The way they changed this movie around to add in Drew knocking her step-sister out was GREAT!! I like the fact that she wasn't just a wimpy little slave girl! She wasn't afriad to voice her opinion! Well Like I said this is a great movie for anyone!
