Summary: The best Cinderella story!
Review: I know I am just adding my voice to the hundreds who've said they loved this movie, but I just had to say something. I have seen other Cinderella stories, but this one tops them all. It is such a relief not to have dancing and singing mice in it! The writers made it easy to believe, and it didn't have a fantasy feeling to it. I liked that they included Leonardo Da Vinci to give it a realitistic view to it. I was so scared the first time I saw it that it was ending at the part where Da Vinci was painting Danielle's picture. What a relief it was that it didn't! Drew Barrymore was an excellent choice for the leading character, and I thought Angelica Huston was fabulous as the wicked step-mother. I liked that at least one of the sisters was on Danielle's side, and not selfish like her sister was. The actress who played Margareet was a good actress, she really was a hateful girl! Dougray Scott was a wonderful "prince charming" and did a great job.

Summary: lovely update to the story for the entire family
Review: As we all know, Cinderella has been done, redone, and redone again on stage and film since the Brothers Grimm compiled their tales. This version is a refreshing "real" adaptation that is truly charming. Gone is the fantastical magic (no pumpkin here), replaced with a strong, plausible heroine who doesn't wait for a man to save her.

Dougray Scott is wonderful and charming as the angst-ridden Crown Prince rebelling from his legacy. His love/hate relationship with his princely celebrity status is well drawn. Drew Barrymore is convincing, if a bit cutesy, as the girl who makes him realize he has the key to another world outside the gilded cage he's building around himself.

Anjelica Huston is perfect as the conniving stepmother. She never becomes a cartoon character version of evil - as could easily happen - she remains human.

The costuming and locales are stunning and Andy Tennant keeps things moving with enough action and comic touches to keep everyone in the family entertained. I highly recommend this latest version of the Cinderella tale!

Summary: A True Tear-Jerker!
Review: This movie literally made me cry. It was the most beautiful version of Cinderella I have ever seen. Drew Barrymore isn't my favourite actress, in fact i think she did pretty bad in Never Been Kissed, but in Ever After she was wonderful! I think she looks amazing with long brown hair, I only want to know was it a wig or not? And the prince was sooooooooo cute, I couldn't stand looking at him, since I am still waiting for a prince on a white horse to rescue me. At the end he really was on a white horse, well that did it I was Ms. Emotional. I wished I could jump into the movie and turn into Danielle, and live happily ever after. This is my favourite movie of all time, and by the way it was the very movie that inspired me to read "Utopia"!

Summary: A Beautiful Film
Review: Wow i don't know what to say about this movie. Well i could start off by saying that how good this movie is. Although this may seem like another simple and pridictible Cinderlla story Girl meets boy, boy&girl fall in love and live happily ever after but if you think so you are sorely wrong this is not a mushy love story it is very good. First of all this has wonderful performances but mainly Drew Barrymore she is excellent as Danille who is so cute and warm and charming also Dougray Scott is very charming as the prince. The lush photography makes this film a treat for the eyes with its old castles and rolling hills in the country side makes it a feast for the eyes. Anjelica Huston is superb in her role as the stepmother i don't think that they could have got any body better than her. The movie takes shape with director Andy Tennant at the helm in a pleasing manner and is first rate in guiding the actors and everything together until it all comes into a lush romantic film. But one more thing i want to mention is the music from George Fenton. His music is very romantic and sounds very refreshing but the only gripe i have about this music is why didn't they use The Mummers dance and Fable which were used in the trailer. If they were used they would have had an even better soundtrack. In conclusion Ever After is an engrossing lush romantic film that is one to watch over and over again

Summary: A magical movie that makes me want to watch it over and over
Review: This is my favourite movie of all time. The costumes were brilliant, the scenes amazing, but the cast made it all worthwhile. They all fitted in perfectly to their roles. The chemistry was magical, and I loved every minute of it. I must have seen it now about eight times, and definately recommend it anyone and everyone!

Summary: my favorite movie!
Review: When I walked into the theatre, I thought this might be an OK movie.I was wrong beyond words. This is the most incredable movie of the 90's, perhaps of all time.Everything from the beleivable dialouge to the costumes and settings which were a treat to the eye. The characters are not one-dimensional at all, even the stepmother is at times nice to danellie. Every part was cast correctly. Danellie is an excellent role model for women of today. This movie is beautifully made and acted.A good example of a movie that is both excellent yet appropiate for all ages.
