Summary: A beautiful, enchanting versio
Review: After viewing "Ever After" in a theater, I knew that it was going to become one of my all-time favorite movies. I've since rented it more than 5 times, and I notice something new about it every time! Drew Barrymore turns in a phenomenal job as Danielle DeBarbarack, an young girl living a life of hardships during the Middle Ages. Anjelica Huston is perfectly cast as the evil stepmother, who provides plenty of back-breaking work for Danielle. Barrymore's character also lives with two stepsisters, Marguerite and Jacqueline: one evil, the other caring. The wonderful story unfolds as Danielle meets the prince of France, falls in love, and then uses her mother's royal name so that Prince Henry may agree to marry her. Unfortunately, her nasty stepmother tells the prince the truth during a royal ball, for she wishes her evil daughter Marguerite to wed him instead. In the end, Danielle escapes from a villain's castle where she has been held captive, and marries Prince Henry. The ending is superb, and, of course, the two live happily ever after. I loved the way that the film follows the time period in which it is set: for example, Leonardo de Vinci appears as Danielle's fairy godfather, and beautiful midieval costumes and castles are shown as well. In conclusion, "Ever After" has it all: class, sophistication, romance, a great plot, wonderful acting, and great music. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up!

Summary: Sad
Review: This movie was just horrible! I'd rather see the cartoon version by Disney then this. You never get hooked in with a plot, if you can even find out the plot. The acting is done horriblly. The directing is also horrible. There is nothing right with this movie except the fact that Drew Barrymore is in it. Even she's horrible in this movie. Go see a good movie with her in it like The Wedding Singer. Skip this movie, but if you must, rent it first. Trust me, you won't like it.

Review: I really liked this movie. I think it was very interesting. If you like Cinderella than you will love this movie.

Summary: Viewing Happily Ever After for Romantics!
Review: Okay, I admit it. This movie turned me into mush and made me smile. I never saw it in the movie theatre. However, one morning I was channel surfing and happened to come across it on HBO. How beautiful and charming it is! I really liked it a lot. And I thought all parties were cast very well, but most especially Drew Barrymore, Dougray Scott(he really is prime for a movie to make him a big-time leading man) and Anjelica Houston.

Romantics will love this film!

Summary: A must for your DVD or Video Library.
Review: We all grew up reading the book and watching the Disney version and this version is simply enchanting. I enjoyed the little details like showing them collecting honey and the class structure. And hats off to the casting director as well! Perfect picks for the actors and Anjelica Huston delivers a wonderfully contemptible evil step-mother-you'll hate her character!

Summary: An old story given new life!
Review: Yet another rendition of the old story of Cinderella. The girl whose father dies and is unfortunately raised by her very wicked step-mother. Throw in a fairy god-mother and voila, she lives happily ever after with her Prince Charming. Yes, you know how the story goes and you know how the story ends. Still though, this movie breathes new life to the old story!

"Ever After" has a great cast of actors and actressess that meshed perfectly together on the screen. Every character played in this version was perfectly casted into each of their respective roles and brought a magical touch to the movie's script. I especially have to pay homage to both Drew Barrymore's portrayal as the "poor cinder girl", Cinderella and to Angelica Huston's fantastically fiendish version of the wicked step-mother. From the trailer I had seen on the film, I initially thought Drew's acting was overly done. But I was way too quick to pass judgement (especially when all I had seen is the trailer). She did a wonderful job! Angelica Huston has instantly made me a believer in her ability to act. Previously, I've seen her work in the Addams Family movies, but never really thought too much of her acting until I saw her rendition of the wicked step-mother. I was awestrucked. You just have to see her performance yourself to understand.

This movie lacks special effects, but so what! What it does have is everything else: a great script, great acting, directing, and even visuals (without the aid of special effects). This is what a true cinematic experience is all about. To be captivated by a simple story with nothing more than just plain good acting, good writing, and great direction. The entire family can enjoy this movie.

Lastly though, as a DVD, it rates rather poorly. This is only due to the lack of extra features one comes to expect out of movies set on the DVD format. Other than that, I really could not find any other flaw. It's a smart and wonderful cinematic experience and would make a nice addition to anybody's video library!

Summary: Drew at her best!
Review: I am slightly biased about this movie as my favorite actress is Drew Barrymore but she really shines in this movie. She portrays her character with every emotion in human nature and brings life to the story. I felt like I was there watching what was going on instead of just watching the screen. Drew just has a sparkle to her that she carries to all her characters and this one is no exception. From shy to bold and courageous, Danielle is the heroine of all heroines. She overcomes all her obstacles to capture the heart of the prince like no other. A fairytale romance is exactly what this is and one that makes you long for fantasy over real-life.

Summary: Better than I thought it would be!
Review: I didn't know what this movie would be like - I expected, from the cover, a lot of romance - but it was actually really good (except for a few cuss words)! I liked how Danielle got back at Marguerite, her evil stepsister (the other stepsister, Jacqueline, was "good"), whereas in other movies the poor protagonist just stood there helpless.

There were also more funny parts in it than you would think. Overall, Ever After was one of those "It's-better-than-I-thought-it-would-be" films.

Summary: Fairytale Romance
Review: What more could you ask for, a love story, that has been told for years. But now, not only does the heroine get her man, but she has a strength that shows that no matter what the circumstances are, you can overcome anything if love is there. Drew Barrymore plays the part of our beautiful heroine with a great passion and deserves any credit that is due.

Summary: Cinderalla Great
Review: This is in my list of top ten favorite movies. I like the way they stuck to the Cinderalla part with the eveil step mother and step sisters and the ball and glass slippers. But I like how they keeped it different and interasting all the way through.
