Summary: Cute, but ..
Review: As a Mary-Kate and Ashley fan, I buy their movies without viewing. So, when I learned about the newest one, "Holiday in the Sun," I got it as soon as possible. However, in comparison to "Our Lips Our Sealed" (my personal favorite) and "Winning London," this movie was weak.

It has a strange balance between trying to appeal to younger and more mature audiences. The girls try too hard to appeal to teen audiences. The guys they use are attractive, but they are so much older. Their parents were really young and very lenient. I found the part when Jordan sang to Alex to be a little over-the-top and incredibly stupid (this part reminds me of that fake soap from the Mickey Mouse Club).

There were too many loose ends: for example, Briana. At first, it seemed like Alex (Ashley) was really going to pay her back or something. But she's not even in the last 30 min. of the movie. If she's not an important character, they shouldn't play her off as one. Also, her voice got really annoying.

It seems like they started with one movie, got bored with it, and switched to another one. First, there was the whole "We wanted to go to Hawaii with our friends!" Then, they get to the Bahamas and do their partying and boyfriends thing. Fine. But, 60 minutes into the 88 minute movie, they decide to include antique robbers. What?? So, the movie totally switches focus (here comes my quip about Briana) and turns into another Mary-Kate and Ashley, by some miracle, save the day. While their chase and eventual capture of the theives is very unrealistic (for example, they go into town, ask someone if he's seen a "white haired man," and then, not only do they find him, he leads them to the ship with the stolen antiques on it), they do this in many movies, and I don't really mind it, assuming that it actually contributes to the story. But, I guess in this case, since there really is no story, you can't say that it doesn't contribute (does that even make sense?).

I also thought the ending was .. interesting. I guess they decided to start making a "other country" series or something, since they already have made 3 (4 counting this one) in other countries. Is it just me, or does it seem like they just came up with this idea now? Just something that bothered me.

However, with all of its inconsistencies and plots, it was a cute, enjoyable movie. There were some pretty good songs (my favorite being "Shades of Love"), and Mary-Kate and Ashley do have some cute clothes (but I did not like Ashley's shirt in the last scene - what was up with the bow and the writing on the back: it just didn't work together in my opinion). They managed a nice balance of matching and different oufits. A few things about the music: they played "One Girl Revolution" a little too much for me. I would've preferred if it were only in one scene, but oh well. Also, I like the Weezer version of "Island in the Sun" much more than the Empty Trash f. Mary-Kate & Ashley version - I don't understand why they played one in the movie and featured a different one on the soundtrack.

This is a good movie to put on if you have a lot of people over (and it gets a lot of, "Oh my gosh, THAT'S Mary-Kate & Ashley??"). It's mindless and can be fun to watch. However, if you're looking for a really good-quality Mary-Kate and Ashley movie (wow, I can't believe I just said that), check out "Our Lips Are Sealed" or one of their other ones.

My personal favorite part of the movie was Keegan. She seemed to be a lot smarter than anyone else in the movie, and I loved her sarcasm. She was so cute, and I would have loved to see her more. I also enjoyed Ashley's disproving of popular sayings. They should've had more of those and less of the "I feel the need-" "The need for speed."

And while many said it was like an 88-minute Atlantis ad (which I agree, it was), that part didn't really bother me. In fact, my family is now planning on going there in March -- I wonder if Mary-Kate & Ashley get some kind of bonus for that?? (Actually, we have been planning on going there for a while, but it's fun to tell people that we were inspired by a Mary-Kate and Ashley movie.)

Summary: Holiday in the Sun
Review: My 7 year old daughter preferred Winning London, Our Lips Are Sealed, and Passport to Paris, to this thinly veiled advertisement for the Atlantis Hotel.

Holiday in the Sun has no plot from the beginning. It was like watching the Olsen sister's home video of their most recent vacation. Did you ever have to sit through someone else's home movies or slides of their vacation/trip? This movie was just like that. BORING! The antique smuggling part of the adventure was only actively thrown in for just the last 15 minutes of the movie.

Overall, this movie was disappointing. Buy one of the other afforementioned titles, they're better.

Summary: Holiday in The Fun
Review: Ok well I thought this hotel was really cool and the water slide scenes made you go just "goo -goo-ga-ga" and feel jealous that its the middle of winter and you couldnt do that.It seems a little over the top ......two drop dead gorgeous girls always have the funnest lives however you couldnt always beliweve what you see. yes there getting older and i believe this is the first time i have heard the word "sucks"in their movie but then i looked at them theyre 15ish and they could say far beyond that )even though they didnt even say it) also the plot wasnt there it just seemed like a documentery on spring break and how to get the boy,and how to go to jail! :)

Summary: The movie is for kids
Review: Holiday in the Sun was made by kids (MKA) for kids. That's why it is not really Oscar-award winning. Yes, the scenery is beautiful and yes, the clothes are designer, but this is not a credible movie.

Summary: NO Point to "Holiday in the Sun"
Review: This movie had cute moments, pretty clothes, etc. etc but not a point. It's about the same thing as "Passport to Paris". Simialer things: Girls are really popular, get the boys, boys ALWAYS like them, bummed abou their vacation, etc., etc. I did like the singing group, "Play: Us against the World" the songs were pretty good and so i bought the cd of it. But overall, I think this movie was mainly made for the money.

Summary: Holiday In The Sun
Review: I obtained this movie as a Christmas present from my Mother and Father, and I absolutely loved it! Being thirteen years old, I enjoyed how the Olsen twins movies have grown along with them, and I would recommend this movie to anyone over the age of ten. There are multiple kissing scenes in this video and with it's grown-up additude, I assume that younger childern wouldn't be able to sit still for the hour and one half long movie. The music though is very cool and I enjoyed the new group "Play" from Sweeden. The group consists of twelve and fourteen year old girls who sing songs to their age level. I was very amazed at how the Olsen twins movies have grown along with them, and I am very proud to say that they are doing a wonderful acting job. I will definently purchase their next film.

Summary: AWESOME!!!!
Review: This movie is awesome! I have already watched it about 3 or 4 times since Christmas! Any Marykate and Ashley fans out there have to see this movie!

Summary: Not up to par
Review: This movie seemed like one long commercial for the resort where it was filmed. The camera tilted at wierd angles and zoomed in for facial close-ups constantly. There didn't seem to be any real plot except to show the girls and their cute companions run around and enjoy a bunch of fun activities. Compared to past entertaining videos such as Winning London and Passport to Paris, this is the first Mary-Kate and Ashley movie I have not enjoyed.

Summary: yawn
Review: Ok, don't get me wrong. I did like the movie; but the plot... or should I say what plot? The girls looked cute and all as usual, and they've grown up a lot since I last really payed attention to them. They're my age actually. I mostly enjoyed the fashion and cute guys (hehe). The acting was, how should i say..."eh." I would think that since they were acting since the diaper days they could be a little more convincing. The whole movie seemed like some hoax advertisement for the Atlantis resort. In fact, there's even a real advertisement in the beginning of the tape. And some of the stuff in the movie like, how their parents are so trusting and forgiving and stuff like that. It either makes you wanna say, "honestly, now...!" or get real jealous cuz ur parents arean't like that. The movie wasn't a total waste I guess, cuz it's just fairly good entertainment. Although the soundtrach sounded pretty good, so maybe you wanna check in on that. I think they should do some real movies that actually go in the theaters, and possibly some solo stuff. I mean, no one has ever heard just Ashley Olsen or just Mary-kate Olsen. They might as well just be permanently attached at the hip (people might pay good money to see that). If one of them died or got horribly disfigured or something, the other's career would be over.

Summary: What's that?
Review: Huh? What's that?
I bought this movie cause I'm a MKA Fan. But this movie ist AWFUL! I can't belive Mary-Kate and Ashley made such a "bad" movie. Where's the plot? Is there one? I didn't find it!
It seems Dualstar wanted to make an extra-cheap movie :-(
