Summary: Revolting. Back AWAY from this movie.
Review: Disney is not doing well with the dog thing anymore. First, they've dragged out the Air Bud series even more, they made a cruddy Lady and the Tramp sequel that's a disgrace to the original, and now this. I saw this movie in theaters because my cousin said her friends had seen it and liked it, but at least now I know what their opinions are worth. They're worth as much as the little dung piles dogs leave on other people's lawns.102 Dalmations takes place in London, where one of the original 101 pups is an adult, and now a father. The thing is, over time, one of the puppies isn't getting her spots. So, sadly, she gets labeled with the ridiculous name "Oddball." Also, at the same time, a guy is not making enough money to care properly for about a dozen dogs, and an annoying parrot that THINKS it's a dog. Cruella has now seemed to be cured of her hatred for kanines, and is given parol. The movie looked like it slightly had the chance of being a good movie until Cruella lost it and went back to her old ways. Then I thought, "Oh no...(heavy sigh)" After that, there wasn't much to look forward to. The rest was pretty stupid. The puppies does Cruella was icing while she's stuck in a humongous cake, Cruella gets put in prison again, and Oddball finally gets her spots. So what's the point of the movie? It's okay to want to be something else; you shouldn't be happy with the way you are. Not only was the movie itself stupid, but it didn't have any good messages either. I would have much rather preferred it if Oddball HADN'T gotten her spots in the end, but she realized that she was just fine without them. But no, Disney rather decided to waste two hours of everyone's lives without even having a good message. Just stick with the older Disney movies like Aladdin and The Lion King. The only GOOD Disney film has come out with in the past five years is Remember the Titans.

Review: 2 thumbs down! even my kid's (6 yr old twins) wanted to leave after an hour. the movie should be called cruella devil returns. the minor part that the puppies did play was cute when of course they showed real puppies and not computer animated. i have all the disney videos( i mean all) but this one will not be added!

Review: I think anything disney does is great!! And how can you not lke something with puppies? I, like Alicia, also don't care much for Glenn Close but come on look at her, she IS Cruella!! And Jack who rated this movie with one star.... How old are you? This is for kids and they all would rate it a *****!!

Summary: Kids Will Love It!
Review: This movie is a typically funny Disney romp, and it's a sure thing that your children will love it. Glenn Close once again does a terrific job of portraying the diabolical Cruella. The addition of the spotless puppy is a cute touch. I couldn't stop my son from saying "look at the puppy he lost his spots!" This movie did not so good at the box office, because of competition(ie: The Grinch & Rugrats), but don't let that stop you from seeing it now. 102 Dalmations is a must buy for any Disney Fan! A Solid 4 Stars

Summary: Better than the 1st
Review: Well, my opinion is quite the opposite from the first reviewer's. I actually liked this one much more than the first. Of course, having Ioan Gruffudd in it didn't hurt. My only problem with the movie, as with the first, was Glenn Close. I just don't care for her, and as such I would have preferred to see someone else in that role. Other than that, I loved the movie and am anxious to buy it once it's available on video. P.S. Ioan Gruffudd was also in "Titanic" and was brilliant in "Horation Hornblower."

Summary: 102 Peices of Bad Sequel
Review: This movie is the worst I have ever seen. The live-action 101 Dalmatians was such a great movie and so well done. But this sequel is so bad, it ruins the first one. I walked into the movie theater with high hopes, even though I had a feeling that the movie was going to be exactly the same as the first one. 102 starts out with a hint of creativity with Cruella DeVil being rehibilitated, and she now loves dogs. She is released from prison, but about a half an hour into the movie, her rehibilitation flops, and she turns back into her old self. So she once again steals dalmation puppies to make her special cloat. Even the small details in the plot were so similar to the first movie. When you view 102, you can point out certain things that you could tell Disney did to make the movie different from the first. For example, there is a dalmatian with no spots. Unfortunatly, Disney didn't use that aspect to it's full potential, as they so often do. If this un-spotted puppy was taken out of the film, nothing would change in the plot or characters. Another thing is that Cruella want's to make her coat with a hood, therefore needing 102 puppies instead of 101. Once again, this does nothing to make the plot fresh. Also, Cruella goes to Paris to make her coat, but, once again, the plot would be exactly the same if she did it in London. There are several little things like the ones I just pointed out that are placed throughout the movie that try to make the story fresh, but just don't accomplish that. Another thing I was really bothered by is that the climax is exactly the same as the first. In 101, Cruella is dumped into a huge bowl of malases. In 102, she is dumped into a cake mixture and baked. This movie featured such a lack of creativity and well-thought-out-planning, it seems to me that Disney would make even more money re-releasing 101 in theaters than they would releasing a sequel that is exactly the same. This movie is just not worth the film it is printed on.

Summary: Cruella Cake
Review: The manager (Gruffudd) of an animal orphanage (which also has some Dalmatian puppies...) is threatened by authorities who want to shut it down. So, he talks to the press, hoping to attract help, but what he attracts instead is... the recently released Cruella De Vil who moves in with the hope of turning the puppies into a coat... a Dalmatian coat, complete with one as a hood. (Depardieu plays a French designer interested in the fur... Alice Evans plays Gruffudd's girlfriend; there's also a parrot called Waddlesworth that helps the doggies, including a puppy called Oddball, out.)

Summary: Darker than the First and a Terrific Glenn Close
Review: Upfront, it should be noted that "102 Dalmatians" is far darker and more violent than the original - either the live action or animated versions. That said, this is one of those rare sequels that actually surpasses the first film in a number of ways. First, the story is less ingrained in our heads, so its fresher and unexpectedly more effective. Second, there are plot twists to rival a gangster flick, with Cruella DeVil first framed as a puppy lover, and then as the nasty character we all love to hate. Third - and most impressive - is Glenn Close, who chews up every scene here in a Golden Globe nominated performance that makes her far scarier and more effective as a villain. She's almost channeling the spirit of Alex in "Fatal Attraction" with her vile manner and spitted dialogue. This is an actress at the top of her form - part Alex and part Norma Desmond (who she played to raves, and a Tony Award, in "Sunset Boulvard.) Bluntly said, Close gives a tremendous performance as the puppy-coat wearing diva - it's high camp at its best, and she makes the film soar in unexpected, hystrionic ways. This Ella-Cruella is one of a kind.
