Rating: Summary: New York City Ballet does a splended job with Nutcracker. Review: When young Marie's Grandfather gives her a wooden nutcracker, it is love at first sight. Then at night the nutcracker fights with the powerful seven headed mouse king. The nutcracker turns into a prince and takes Marie to "The Land of Sweets" were groups from all over the world greet and dance for Marie and her Prince. It's a wonderful dream.................. Children and family's that love ballet or are interested in The Nutcracker will love this classic story danced by The New York City Ballet. .................................................... The acter from "Home Alone" is in this Ballet
Rating: Summary: Others are much better Review: You can't go wrong with the Nutcracker ballet, and we enjoyed this one. However, Macaulay Culkin is terrible and distracts from the entire performance. Surely, almost anything Hollywood gets its hands on is cheapened, and this is a clear example. Also, my children enjoyed Mikhail Baryshnikov's 1977 version over this or any other that they have seen. So, if you want to see all the Nutcrackers, go ahead and rent or borrow this one, but if you see (or buy) only one version, choose another.
