Summary: See this Film if you want to Feel Happy!
Review: I think the songs in this movie really make a person feel so carefree, and they really lift your spirits. I think "Running Away" and "Pippi Longstocking is Coming into Your World" are classics, and I sing them whenever I'm feeling down. The girl who plays Pippi really makes her character fun.

Summary: Bad Movie
Review: I thought this movie was so dumb when I saw it. They made up so much stuff in it that didn't happen in the Pippi Longstocking books.I hated how Pippi was so fresh when she was in the orphange. Don't see this movie.

Summary: Classic Children's Film
Review: I'll address the one person (I'm sure that'll change) that gave this movie one star. Yes, it is true that this movie does not follow the books. In fact, they're taking artistic license all over the place, but that doesn't detract from the experience. The reason I read the books in the first place was because of this movie. Anyway, on to the real review. It's very light fare. A children's film. I have memories of watching it when I was younger and I enjoyed it. I still do. So, if you're looking for something you can watch with the kids, of if you're a big kid (like me), get this film. And unlike most "kids" movies you see today there is no bathroom humor. Highly recommended.

Summary: The best childhood memory
Review: I'm 17 and a h.s. senior and just bought this movie after renting it on a whim 2 days ago in order to relive some great childhood memories with a friend(we still remembered the words to all the songs), and I absolutely love it! It is one of the best childrens movies ever made. Its a must for anyones movie collection.

Summary: Intentionally cheesy, but cute anyway
Review: Most Pippi diehards, critics and most of the general public did not accept this film generally, but I have adored Pippi Longstocking for many years and I would like to say it was a good effort. This is the first (and maybe) last American adaptation of the red-headed girl. And like most movies based on books, it ain't going to be perfect or accurate. First and foremost, Pippi is supposed to be 9. Tami Erin (Who has seemed to fall off the face of this planet after this), was around her teen years when this was filmed. With that age barrier, she still does duplicate that trademark Pippi cheerfulness.

Another lasting memory of this film is the incredibly CHEESY songs! They make most Disney songs sound platable. If any one who grew up with this film, I bet you recall the title song ("Pippi Longstocking is coming into your town..."). One tidbit about that that it's sung by an Austrailan childrens chorus. So, it's good to watch once in awhile, not like every day or something.

Summary: fun movie for kids of all ages
Review: My 8 year old daughter Hannah wanted to see a Pippi Longstocking movie after reading the book. We rented this film and Hannah and her little brother James (19 months old) absolutely loved it. Hannah is saving her money to buy the video. Both kids watched it 3 times over a long weekend and loved dancing along with Pippi to the great songs. My husband and I also enjoyed it, especially since we had recently shared the book with Hannah. Pippi is great in any form.

Summary: An enjoyable film for kids
Review: My kids love this movie. COnsidering all the other garbage out there for kids to watch, this harmless, fun movie provides some wonderful entertainment.

Summary: Wonderful-feel good movie for kids
Review: My three year old loves this movie, it has become a classic in our household. A wonderful family movie. Pippi is non-violent full of encouragement a wonderful role model for todays troubled youth. A wonderful alternative to the typical childrens entertainment.
