Review: I don't know how anyone can think of this movie as anything but great. It has triumphs, sadness, and yet is filled with hope. It is one of my favorite horse movies, one of my favorite movies actually. Anyone can watch it. 4 year olds to age 82. I don't think it is a childish movie, since it is so touching. Anyone that doesn't enjoy the movie, obviously doesn't have a great passion for horses. Any horse person, that is just in love with these magnificent creatures, will love this movie too. I can gauruntee it. Also, since the horse does go through many physical and emotional struggles I cannot see how some may think this is just the perfect horse never doing anything wrong. All I have to say to people with this attitude is watch the movie again. It is a wonderful, warm, and inspiring movie, that touches the heart of everyone that sees it.

Review: We just love this movie. It is excllent for the kids and adults also. My daughter is a horse lover and really enjoys this movie. It is one of the better family movies there are. I would highly recommend this movie.

Review: Even if you've never read the book you will LOVE this movie. In movies today it seams like there for the adults or the kids. This is a movie you can watch with the entire family. I love the way they kept to the book through the entire movie. I think it has to be one of the best movies ever.

Summary: A Toddler's Review
Review: I'm reviewing on behalf of my almost 4 year old daughter, who will not allow me to take the movie out of the VCR. And, I found myself stopped in my tracks watching the movie as she watched it. I would never have thought she would have liked the movie, not being animated; but she is engrossed and absolutely adores the movie. It is a must-have for children who love horses or animals...the horses are beautiful and the narration brings the horses to life as almost real-life characters. And, as far as children's movies are concerned, this one is enjoyable for adults as well.

Summary: Great movie told from the horses point of view
Review: I love this movie. Although I did not see the other versions, this one is perfect. I believe it took a woman director, who obviously has a love of horses, to make Anna Sewell's novel come to life. I love the way it is told from the horses point of view. It starts out when you see Beauty very happily sitting under a tree, "at home". He tells the story of his life and makes the point that animals are totally at the mercy of humans, kind or cruel. Ironically, the kindest owners he is fortunate to have lived with are the ones who have the smallest means, he felt more loved and appreciated than by the wealthier ones. Which gives hope to those of us who are not rich and aspire to have horses in the family one day. Anyway, this is a great one for the whole family and especially for horse lovers, which is probably most of us, whether admittedly or not.

Summary: Beautiful re-telling
Review: This version of the classic is definitely the one to purchase. The cinematography is outstanding, the performances are just right and the story is compelling. My children (7 and 4) were glued to the film the entire way thru. It's exciting, engaging and even made me cry. If you have a horse lover in your house, I can't think of a better film. Actually, if you have a love of great film-making, you should own this film, horse lover or not.

Review: Una de las mejores peliculas de animales, si no es que la mejor, la directora Caroline Thompson, sumerge al espectador en el alma de Black Beauty de una manera sublime en la que por el espacio de la pelicula sentimos el dolor y la alegria de este fiel caballo, esta historia deja como mensaje para el ser humano que la fidelidad a nuestros ideales y el amar a nuestros semejantes nos da el camino a la felicidad en nuestra vida. Una pelicula que no debe de faltar en ningun hogar y en ninguna coleccion de quien se diga fanatico del cine.

Review: I think that "Black Beauty" is the best horse movie I have ever seen. It is absolutely spectacular! The movie is from Beauty's perspective and it definitely is moving and touching at parts. I love all the horses in the movie and I love the camera angles and shots. It makes you feel like you are right there, sometimes even on the horse. I highly recommend this movie for people of all ages.
