Summary: Funny to the End
Review: Ice Age is a great movie. I saw it yesterday and it was really funny. there were kids half my age there and they were laughing most of the time. The characters were so easy to like and the action keeps you watching. Manny was likable and funny. I liked Sid a lot. He was like the most comic of the characters. All of them were great and the movie is worth seeing. I know that I would recommend it to everyone. It is funny, adventurous, and really cool, in my opinion. It was kinda different from what I imagined, but it was fun. I would buy this movie when it came to video. See it, I think it was pretty great.

Summary: A joke or what?!?!
Review: When I saw this movie, I almost fell asleep it was boring. It is definatly a little kid movie. It is very sloooooooooooow moving and just plain DUMB!!! Who all the people who loved this movie, take a second to realize what a BORE this is!!!!! It has way to many ideas from Shrek and even some from Lord of Rings, which are both awesome movies, but this, TRASH! Save your money and go to that "Time Machine" movie or something.

Summary: Cool Kids Comedy
Review: The computer generated animated feature has become the core offering for many studios. Disney has gone the route several times with its bug, dinosaur, monster and toy stories. Never to be outdone by it's rival, Dreamworks has its own with bugs and monsters with ANTZ and SHREK. Nickelodeon recently joined the fray with JIMMY NEUTRON. Now, 20th century Fox tosses its hat into the ring with ICE AGE.

The technology is at times stunning, with this film offering realistic reproductions of textures and the elements. The voice talent is valuable to the tone of the film. Ray Romano in no way distorts his unique voice as Manfred the Mammoth. On the other hand, John Leguizamo offers a great vocal performance as Sid the Sloth, the rather annoying chatterbox with the occasional heart of gold. Denis Leary seems to be vocally miscast, not that he isn't sufficient, just unnecessary. A less popular performer could offer the same performance. The storyline has logic holes in it that certainly won't bother any child. After a secret sabre-tooth attack on a baby is thwarted, it is revealed that the attacks success would be contradictory to his bigger plan; he wants to use the baby to trap the mammoth... food for a long time.

The films greatest element is a running subplot about a scrat. If you saw the long running trailer with the part muskrat, mouse, and squirrel protecting a nut, you've already seen him. In addition to that scene, he appears a few more times offering some of the best, although always violent, laughs in the film.

The storyline follows an odd couple that is out to save a human baby from the jaws of the villain, all the time as they journey to safe harbor from the elements. I wish this studios first CG entry would be more original rather than a storyline that seems to morph DINOSAUR with MONSTERS, INC. But, it is beyond passable material. Both kids and adults are left with some good laughs but, in the information age, this film will join the Jimmy Neutron's as also-rans.

Summary: True Family Entertainment!
Review: From the very first moment, we were all captivated. The graphics are amazing and vibrant. The humor hits every level, from adult nuances to childlike slapstick. Best of all, we were all entertained, from the 5-year-old to Grandma. This movie is worth seeing by the whole family - we loved it!

Summary: Great movie, I hope Blue Sky lasts awhile
Review: I'm not going to use all of the available 1,000 words to tell you that you should see this movie. I have heard news that this movie was three years in the making, and has crippled its developer, Blue Sky. While Ice Age has not come with the hype of Monsters Inc., it's a far more enjoyable movie with astounding effects (you thought the fur in MI was good?) and great voice acting. See it.

Summary: Great Story
Review: No matter how spectacular the computer generated tale is, if there is a weak story no amount of amazing rendering will make the film worthwhile. "Ice Age", has great primary characters together with some more minor creatures that make this film extremely fun to watch. The dialogue is great, and you will find yourself laughing repeatedly during the film.

The film has a different look than the films created by Pixar. Pixar has created remarkably lush and realistic environments in films like, "A Bug's Life". "Ants" attempted to just copy a Pixar creation and moviegoers were not fooled. The animators that created this film concentrate more on the primary characters, there are humans portrayed as well, but they are not intended to push realism or to fool those watching. The group that did this evidently has created software that allows them to render snow and its movement with great realism. I had read about this aspect prior to the film, and the snow filled visuals were amazing. The Sloth, Mammoth, and Saber-Toothed Tiger are the stars, and other cameos are excellent. And the critter on the poster, Scrat, owns the show whenever he appears, and is hilarious. His precious cargo, an acorn, is even turned in to much more than just a nut.

Just as Manfred the Mammoth has been incorrectly described as a Mastodon, there is no portrayal of violence or death as occasionally shown by Disney, in films like, "The Lion King". The theater was filled with very young kids, who clearly were delighted with the film, and parents need have no fear of the youngsters seeing anything inappropriate, or having to deal with nightmares.

Great story, great film, and hopefully the, "Sub-Zero Heroes", will return again to the theater.

Summary: Wonderful Movie
Review: I saw Ice Age at the premier in NYC and LOVED IT! I think it has something for everybody, great for kids and their parents. The style is great, much simpler then the fancy stuff from last year but obviously done intentionally. The story might be a little cliché but it's full of great gags to make up for it. The animation style is like the old Chuck Jones stuff, very funny. I highly recommend it!
