Summary: The most powerful movie ever made about friendhip and love!
Review: FINALLY I can buy my own copy!! Simon Birch is a touching story about embracing diversity, true friendship, faith in God, and unconditional love! As an avid moviegoer and collector, I have not felt such an emotional connection and devotion to fictional characters since watching "Beaches"! I have told everyone I know that they MUST SEE THIS MOVIE!!!! Simon will change your entire outlook on life!

Summary: The Best Film of 1998
Review: Thank God for video! That is my reaction to the film Simon Birch. When the movie came out last fall I read a negative review in Entertainment Weekly and decided not to see the movie in the theatres. I have since seen Simon Birch on a plane flight and I am still kicking myself for missing it in the theatres. This is the most touching, funny, and memorable film I have ever seen. It deals with deep issues of death and love and friendship and faith--but don't hesitate to show it to your children, too. Get this movie on video, if there were more movies like this, the world would be a better place!

Summary: SIMPLY THE BEST!
Review: Simon Birch is really the best movie I have ever seen. His character is most honorable. This is a great movie to watch with 10+ year olds: very good lessons learned with some very real heartbreak. I wish there were more people around today with just a little of Simon's character!

Summary: SIMON BIRCH: A HERO FOR ALL TIME!
Review: Ian Michael Smith and Joseph Mazzello, the memorable starts of Simon Birch, create an amazingly effective on-screen portrayal of lasting friendship in this underappreciated movie--a gem worth watching and re-watching with the people you love. Though the movie is so unlike the novel it was based on (*A Prayer for Owen Meany* by John Irving) that the characters' names were changed, the video capably stands on its own: Simon Birch, like Owen Meany, is a gritty hero with a heart full of faith, a puzzling boy with a destiny--and no one can dissuade him from following his life purpose. Simon's outsized wit is larger than life, housed in a miniature body that his Sunday School buddies lift high above their heads with surprisingly little effort. His odd-sounding voice irritates even as it informs people that Simon can be very SERIOUS. I thank God--and John Irving--for this classic story. Both the video and the book are among my favorites: I highly recommend both. If you're willing to temporarily abandon your cynical side, you may find yourself cheering for Simon (and Owen) in spite of the wild absurdities contained in this remarkable, mystical tale.

Summary: Read the Book...
Review: A great movie, but please, pick up John Irving's book... it is far superior.

Summary: A Must See movie with plenty of laughs and lessons.
Review: Simon Birch was an entertaining and teaching movie about accepting those who may be different. You will have to see it more than once because you will be laughing so hard that you will miss numerous lines. It is a tear jerker, thought provoker, and stomach pincher all at the same time. You MUST SEE THIS INCREDIBLE MOVIE!! I wish it had a lot more publicity because it was one of the best movies of 1998. I can't wait to buy this flick and watch it over and over again!!

Summary: One of the Best Movies I've Seen!
Review: It still amazes me that this movie got all the critical backlash that it did, becuase I love this movie. This film will make you laugh and cry and leave with such satisfaction that you were glad you took the time to watch it. It explores issues of friendship and religion but doesn't get too deep or preachy. This movie gets placed in my top 10 of all time favorites. If you want a pleasant story in the style of Forrest Gump, then watch Simon Birch.

Summary: A funny, heart-warming, must-see film!
Review: I loved this movie. My 7 year old was not interested in seeing it, but after watching for 10 minutes, he wasn't interested in leaving, he wanted to stay for the whole thing. We all fell in love with Simon --- what a positive role model for everyone --- especially 12 year olds. We definately want this classic to be in our video library. It was funny and endearing, and broke your heart --- yet it made you feel good. We ALL cried and we all laughed out loud. I'm so glad we discovered it. It needs a lot more attention. Some bad words that I didn't like, but the movie outshined them.

Summary: Simon Birch teaches we can overcome all odds.
Review: Simon Birch is a rare movie. It blends humor and real life problems in a way that teaches that no matter what our problem is, God has a purpose for our lives. Sometimes we don't know what that purpose is, but if we remember our faith in God, we can overcome all odds. Simon Birch is a feel good movie of the highest order.

Summary: This is one of the top five movies I've ever seen.
Review: It shows that what we are inside and what we make of ourselves is the important thing. I can't recall any other movie that has made me both laugh and cry as this one did. I viewed this movie with a group of co-workers of varying ages and we all loved it. Now, several months later, I still smile when I think of it
