Rating: Summary: EVEREST Review: I have seen this film over 10 times and every time is just as good as the first, i advise anyone who is going to see this film to read into thin air by john krakauer and the climb by anotoli boukreev. After reading these two books the film automatically turned into something i could relate too and the sad way that rob hall and scott fisher died on the mountain it must have taken a lot of courage by the imax team to make a summit bid only weeks after such a disaster absolutley brilliant film and i would recommend for all people to watch and see for themselves that climbing everest is not just a stroll in the park as people seem to think these days
Rating: Summary: Beautifully done Review: I have never been climbing in my life but when I originaly saw this film for a brief few minutes in a Outdoor gear store on hdtv, I told my wife that we had to rent this film. If you want to see spectacular footage of a place few people have ever been then you will enjoy this film. The 70mm pictures are second to none. Story development is not quite up to snuff and the characters do not make you cheer for them but my gosh the footage! This alone is worth the price
Rating: Summary: A Good Documentary Review: If you expect tense action and suspense, you will be disappointed. This is a documentary with fabulous photography and loads of DVD features. I was expecting more, but I don't think the IMAX feature can be captured in a "home cinema" (I have a 41" tv). I wouldn't recommend this film unless you are a mountain climber (an interest alone is not enough) or have a special interest in Everest. In any case, check the film run time before giving up the $$.
Rating: Summary: marvelous! Review: I think that it's a marvelous movie and epic
Rating: Summary: great photagraphy footage and story line Review: I've seen this movie several times including in an Imax theater I never get tired of reading books or watching good movies like this one about everest. I think that David breashears did a great job of filming directing and helping the rescue effort in 1996 he is sort of the hometown hero here in boston
Rating: Summary: Awesome Review: I saw this IMAX movie three times, and every time I thought it was more awesome than before. I am an IMAX movie fan, and this is my favorite of the bunch.
Rating: Summary: For outdoor enthusiasts like myself,it is a must see. Review: I saw Everest at the Denver IMAX theater. It was purely amazing the camera crew completed the climb . The film gives a whole new perspective on the forces of nature and what people will risk to reach a goal or accomplish a challenge. I was told one in twenty people die just on the way back down from the summit. Now I know why.
Rating: Summary: Five stars for the camera crew. One star for the idea. Review: I will prefer to see " The making of Everest" During the entire film time I was wondering who were the superheroes that carried the filming equipment under such conditions and having to endure the same weather than the people beign filmed. Five stars for the crew and their effort. The reasoning behind risking your life to climb a mountain was never explained. Seeing people die for a sport wasn't fun. Waiting with the pregnant wife of one of them was not fun or illustrative This film isn't for kids.
Rating: Summary: this is a documentary with exceptional beauty Review: Nature is seen in this documentary at its best and its worst. This will almost take you there.A true and tragic story.
