Rating: Summary: This is a great movie Review: I can't stand not seeing this over and over get this movie you won't regret it!!!
Rating: Summary: lungs and legs.... Review: For a beginner climber such as myself this movie details just how tortuous mountaineering can be. Even so, it still looks like a great adventure to take part in!!! Lungs and legs!
Rating: Summary: This is one of the greatest all-time Imax videos Review: This movie was truly a fantastic feture. The pictures of the film were amazing.
Rating: Summary: Another good documentary on Everest but curiously, ironically Review: The making of "Everest, the IMAX movie" was much better. This PBS presentation contained much more indepth information into struggles and physical torture of high altitude climbing. The making of... show also included all the individuals on the film crew, not just three as in the IMAX movie. One of the climbers lingers close to death, for instance, at camp 4 after summiting. Yes! See this video but realize there is much more to this story and much more to be known about this climb for the serious student of Everest.
Rating: Summary: By far the best IMAX movie ever, but... Review: The story is wonderful and the photgraphy breathtaking. However, it doesn't rate five starts in my book only because technical problems forced them to rcreate the summit sequence later on, and this movie isn't avaiable on DVD. Still, if you want an idea about the Himalayas and what it takes to climb Everest, this movie is worth every bit of the price.
Rating: Summary: This movie rules for all you adventurous types! Review: Even if you don't like to go outdoors long enough to get the mail, you'll love this movie. It gets you in touch with just how BIG and diverse our world is.
Rating: Summary: A beatiful and unnerving tale of a fabled climb Review: Having seen Everest at the IMAX theater and being lucky enough to have a 50-inch TV, I can't wait to own a copy of this tremendous story that is as much about a far-off piece of the world as it is about a mountain climbing season that ended in horror. Rather than concentrate on the tragedy of a team, some of whom did not survive, this is a tale of people who live under incredible circumstances. The views from the Russian helicopters taking the IMAX crew to the first base camp, this is an opportunity to see the desolation in which people live, with small huts crouched along the waters of frigid rivers, surrounded by the most beautiful and deadly mountains in the world. It is also a chance to learn about fabled cities from which the trekkers undertake their trip to the wilderness. Rather than worry about the disclaimer at the end, which states that some scenes were recreated, think of why this happened inthe middle of a documentary. The IMAX crew's equipment was dumped to loan life giving supplies to dying climbers. Listening to the words of a man breathing his last as he freezes to death at an altitude most of us could never attain, is as chilling as the layers of snow and ice that begat the glaciers that, thousands of miles downstream, become the source of fabled rivers. Everest is a tremendous undertaking that offers of no-holds-barred look at skill, bravery and daring, available because of improved technology that brings the experience to all arm-chair travelers.
Rating: Summary: 'Everest' climbs to new levels of film making. Review: "Everest" has a great score, great narration by Academy Award winner Liam Neeson, and is an over all great concept. It is just unfortunate that anyone reading this will probably be seeing it on a television for the first time. "Everest was made for the IMAX and has to be seen there to fully appreciate this level of film making. It is an eye-opening, enriching look at this great mountain, finally captured in its true essence for the first time for those who can only dream of climbing it.
Rating: Summary: A must see! Review: The is the best Iman of all time. I urge you to see it; however it won't be the same seeing it on home video when it comes out March 30.
Rating: Summary: If you love mountains you gotta like Everest! Review: This is a IMAX masterpeice! This is much better than Shakespeare In Love! Everest is the greatest film of all time!!!!!
