Summary: terribly dated teenage drivel
Review: Maybe this movie was better in the year of its realease (1979), but now it really shows its age. Both the story and the humor are clearly from the past, and the mannerisms of the major characters simply annoy rather than entertain. Rent this first, if you think its great... maybe you're dated too? If so, maybe it's YOU who needs to "break away" from the 1970s?

Summary: Fantastic: Must watch if you too enjoy urban nightmares
Review: Coming from the hub of classical architecture, the renowned utopia of Swansea, this film fully represented and reflected the idealised fillip in life that had only previously been brought to life through photographic techniques developed and destroyed in LCP. A contemporary dream.

Summary: This movie always inspires me to pull my bike out for a ride
Review: When I fall out of exercising mode, there are always a couple of things that remotivate me like nothing else. The book Once a Runner never fails to get me out for a run and this movie never fails to get me out for a bike ride. I've loved this movie for years, and yes, I'm even old enough to remember watching the t.v. series based on it while it lasted. A wonderful, inspiring story that rings as true now as it ever did about life in small college towns all over America.

Summary: A great story
Review: Highly recommended. Have turned several people on to this "little" movie and they each found it delightful. Works for many reasons---everyone finds something they really like about it.

Summary: heartwarming, funny, evocative film of post-high school years.
Review: This movie is on my list of personal favorites. Give it a chance and I'll bet it will be on your list too. I watch it at least once a year.

Summary: The Movie That Helped Me Grow Up.
Review: I saw this movie as a child and was part of my cycling upbringing. This movie inspired me to make sure I made the most of my talents.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Took me back to my childhood days. Very heartwarming.
Review: I grew up in Bloomington,IN and this movie really does hit home regarding how the students looked upon the hometown kids. It was very true to life. What an inspiration it is for kids to see that the college crowd isn't always what they seem to be. Hard work pays off in the end. Excellent film.

Summary: Decades later, it's still a great movie
Review: Heartwarming, that's what it is. Too many people focus on the father-son relationship, but my favorite scene is when Dave's mother shows him her passport. This movie is also very funny. And you gotta love that there's no explanation given for why the kid is shaving his legs.

Summary: If you enjoy movies, you will love this one!!!
Review: A true classic movie. It it doesn't touch you, then you aren't a parent or a child. Children don't come with instructions, but then again, neither do parents. This movie reveals that if we pull on the same rope in the same direction at the same time, life can indeed be quite rewarding. When your family is together, everything else is just gravy. And if it isn't......NOTHING will ever fill the void.

Summary: Moving, relevant and funny . Breaking Away is simply great
Review: What happens after high school? Breaking Away concerns itself with the confusions of starting life as an adult, where high school popularity and wit don't get you as far.Its funny, moving and most of all entertaining. Standout scene is when the Dennis Christopher comes home and starts pretending to be an Italian.
