Summary: Horrible
Review: Who wants to show their kids a movie about a bunch of desperately unhappy people? Everywhere Lilo turns there are people trying to make her life miserable. Then comes Stitch from outer space, who is violent and disrespectful, and this is what is supposed to make Lilo feel like she finally "belongs?" Not only did I greatly dislike the basic plot, I also found the movie to have SO many ridiculous twists and turns it was as if the writers didn't know where to end it. Horrible from beginning to end, to end, to end...

Summary: cute and fluffy.
Review: one of my favorite movies ever!... how one could not like a lush, pastel-tinted family movie about the friendship between a nearly autistic genetically engineered weapon of mass destruction and a little hawaiian girl who performs brain surgery on dolls and bites her classmates is beyond me. also, probably has the best hijacking-of-an eighteen-wheeled-fuel-truck-in-order-to-purposefully-drive-it-into-a-volcano-scene as yet committed to film. very nearly makes up for celebration. i will watch it again and again.

Summary: Best Disney Flick Yet
Review: I didn't even want to see this movie when it came out in theaters. I watched it recently out of boredom and have been Stitch obsessed ever since. This movie is so touching and cute. Do yourself a favor and see this movie. It's got something for everyone. I am not the same person since I've seen it :)

Summary: Pure Joy
Review: I saw this in the theater with my children and knew we'd have to own it. Since others have summarized the plot and characters, I thought I'd reflect on what makes this film so special. The real charm of this film lies in how flawed *all* of its characters are. That, I know, is a big "minus" for parents who only want their children exposed to good fictional role models, but I totally disagree. We all feel flawed at a fundamental level, and the challenge is to rise above that to create goodness in the world. Lilo is a bully, Stitch is a monster, and Nani is out of her league when is comes to parenting her little sister. Still, they (and other misfits) take what they have to offer to create a family and a home.

Summary: Not a poser Disney movie
Review: Disney has finally come up with a great movie after the Lion King. If you have lost faith in Disney movies, this movie will change your mind about the movies, although not Disney Channel. This movie is teen wannabe free. NO KISSING AND NO TEENAGE WANNABE STUFF. IT'S NOT LIKE DISNEY CHANNEL. The only thing close to romance is Nina and David being friends who each have a crush on each other. No classic teen flirting.

This is the best science fiction cartoon movie Disney came up with. (not like Atlantis or Treasure Planet) This movie is worth the money because it will make you want to watch it again because it is a cute story. Even if you bore it out, within a month or two, you will want to watch it again.

The music in this film is pop star free, except for credits. No dumb attempts to try to promote the pop music industry. The music is just movie orchestra music, Hawain choir, and some Elvis songs. Even the pop music is pretty.

Just buy this, you won't regret it. This is the best Disney movie. The technology we have today makes this just as memorable as the old Disney movies

Summary: Ohana means family
Review: Disney's Lilo & Stitch, is a fun action-comedy, with a tuch
of romance and Si-fi-adventure... And best of all, it's something
the whole family can enjoy!

The story fallows:
In a place far, far away, illegal genetic experiment #626 is detected: Ruthless scientist Dr. Jumba Jookiba has created a strong, intelligent, nearly indestructible and aggressive being with only one known weakness: The high density of his body makes it impossible for the experiment to swim in water. The scientist is sentenced to jail by the Grand Council of the Galactic Federation. The experiment is supposed to be transported to a prison asteroid, yet manages to escape Captain Gantu, who was supposed to deliver him there. With a stolen police cruiser (the red one), the destructive being races towards a little and already doomed planet: Earth. Stranded on Hawaii, experiment #626 can't actually do much harm: water all around, no big cities and two well-equipped representatives of the Galactic Federation already following close behind to catch him again. But Dr. Jookiba and the Earth expert Pleakley never could have guessed that earth girl Lilo adopts the experiment as dog, gives him the name Stitch and actually causes an emotional development in the little beast. Her dysfunctional family, consisting only of Lilo and her sister Nani, is about to be ripped apart by social worker Cobra Bubbles. Stitch as the new family member brings quite some action into all their lifes, and after a while, not even Pleakley and Dr. Jookiba can recognize their former target. But how shall they bring the news of failure to the Grand Councilwoman without being punished?

Overall I think this is a good disney movie, for anyone.

Summary: No "Fun" in this Horribly Disfunctional Movie.
Review: Ok, I gave this movie 1 star only because there was no option for 0 stars.

At the beginning of this movie, after all the alien mumbo-jumbo, the movie starts with a beautiful scene of Lilo swimming in the ocean and then moves to an exquisite hula dancing scene. Right then, I knew this was going to be one of my favorite movies. But very suddenly that delusion was knocked out of me as Lilo beat up and bit another child. The movie continues with unbelievable violence between Lilo and her sister. There was a scene with Lilo, who locked herself in the house so her sister could not get in, laying on the floor listening to Elvis records saying she wanted to die.

I've worked with a lot with children and I know for a fact children will act out what they see in a movie or video. In a lot of ways, what they see on a screen teaches them how to work out conflicts in their own lives. What on earth does this teach them about how to act? Biting and beating kids up because they reject you? Gee, I can't wait for the sequel when Lilo goes to school and blows all her classmates to pieces ala Columbine. And how many kids are now going to lay on the floor spouting to leave them alone, they want to die, just to get attention? And no parent or adult sibling guardian has any right to beat a child into submission and make degrading comments ("I'd rather have a bunny") no matter what frustration they are feeling. And then supposedly a nasty little alien comes down from the sky and makes this situation all better? Somebody needs some therapy!!! Oh, yeah, then there's this big assassin-like social worker who tries to take the child away. Oh, but after aliens blow up the house and kidnap the girl, everything ends in your typical Disney happy ending. Were the filmmakers on drugs???

This just further proves Michael Eisner is the worst thing to happen to Disney. Thank God Jeffrey Katzenberg still makes great animated movies like SPIRIT: STALLION OF THE CIMMARON -- not my absolute favorite, but at least it had a good story that won't warp the minds of our little ones.

My experience of Hawaii is that children are highly prized, even having their own holiday, and that the village truly does raise each child there. I remember there always being lots of grandparents, aunties and uncles, cousins, etc., to make children feel loved and to teach them honor. Everyone in the community is Ohana, family.

Growing up in Hawaii, there was always so much magic, especially with all the legends and ghost stories. And each culture that comes together to make up Hawaii, is so vibrant and interesting. But these filmmakers chose to forgo all the beauty and magic of Hawaii and its history and culture, and had to juice up the movie with space aliens???

This film will not be in my collection.

Summary: Fun, but not one of the better Disney films.
Review: Ya know, it's sad when a fun family film like this can be bogged down by worthless PC garbage. I never saw this movie in the theater, I almost didn't even rent it. Why? Because every review or shred of information I read pointed to the character designs. Junk like "It's so wonderful to see an empowered female character who doesn't fit the barbie cookie-cutter design." and utter non-sense like that. I figured, judging from what I'd heard, it was nothing but Disney PC garbage. I should have trusted Disney's sense more than that.

Look folks, it's simple. Lilo is slightly overweight and so are a few other characters in the movie. Other characters are very fit and lean. There's a wide mix and this is NOTHING new. This is NOT some kind of PC garbage, this is not woman empowerment, and this has NOTHING to do with the movie. It doesn't make them look "real", it doesn't change a freaking thing from any other movie. It's just one tiny little aspect that these lifeless morons decided they wanted make center stage. The characters and locations are wonderfully drawn and animated, and each have their own style.

This of course leads to senseless bashing of all the Disney women of the past. How low can people stoop. I've heard so much garbage now about how Ariel, Jasmine, and the rest are such awful role models for girls. Get a freakin life. Ariel is a MERMAID for crying out loud, and Jasmine's a princess. How can you think that the active, healthy women of Disney films would not LOOK healthy! It's mind numbing.

But, enough of that. Less than 15 minutes into the movie you'll realize this has all been blown so far out of proportion it's not funny, and forget all about it. Disney has put together a movie that's funny, action packed, and filled with great characters. Lilo is a bit of a brat, which is just plain hilarious. It's the only way a relationship between her and Stitch would be even slightly believable. Her older sister Nani is a little pointless, but fills the role none the less. Cobra Bubbles is a stretch to believe, but hey... why not. He's entertaining, and his voice booms loudly over the sub-woofer. It's just fun to hear him talk.

It's far from one of Disney's best, and it's largely forgettable. But hey, it's worth a rental and it's got some good laughs. You'll be hard pressed not to love Stitch no matter what you think of the movie. It's worth renting just to see him alone, but the movie itself should keep you entertained as well. It's not a classic, but it is fun hour and a half... and that's all I expected.

Summary: This Movie is Great!
Review: Every minute of this movie is good. The animation is beautiful, the characters are well designed, and frankly Stitch is the Mouse house's best new addition. He matches the temper of Donald and the comedy antics of Goofy. The film keeps things going at a fast pace and never really drags or gets boring. The DVD doesn't fare as well. The menus are cool and some of the featurettes are great but the other extras are just stuff you'd find on a regular direct-to-video Disney DVD. But then this leads me to believe that there will be a two-disc special edition coming out soon! But this DVD is still worth buying for the movie alone!

Summary: A true "babysitter" for stay-at-home moms
Review: Wherein "The Lion King", "Beauty and the Beast", "The Little Mermaid"," Aladdin", "The Hunchback of Notre Dame", and "Pocahontas" appealed to all members of the family, "Lilo & Stitch" is solely for the kids.

Stitch's antics, the vibrant colors, the rock and roll-influenced soundtrack, and the "zip" of the storyline fascinated the little ones in my household.

The film will never gain "classic" status, but it is a pleasant diversion for the young set.
