Rating: Summary: Slipping still slipping I slipped ! Review: This is a zzzzzz type of movie I mean what kind of brainless ... would put Rosie O' Donnell down as Betty I mean what is this Idotic Casting Zone and another thing John Goodman is no Fred I think he has done better and I think Pebbles should have been played by a YOUNGER Kids as too Bam Bam The baby that played Mary in Three Men And A Baby should have played Pebbles in my opion hey at least she was younger .I like the second one best ! The casting is right ,the music is terrfic ,and the casting is good here is what I have too say . Bye the second ... the first . Toodles !
Rating: Summary: YABBA-DABBA-DOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Review: This is one great remake and this movie is better than the cartoon, why John Goodman makes a good Frederick "Fred" Flintstone, including Elizabeth Perkins (who plays Wilma Slaghoople Flintstone made her hair like Wilma's hair, and I wonder how Rick Moranis who plays Barney Rubble, would look without his glasses, and how Rosie O'Donnell who plays Betty McBricker Rubble, can go from crazy, funny voice to sweet, little voice, and Kyle MacLachlan makes a good villian, and i was funny when he said that bad word spoken in stone age. (Son of a Brachiolosophus), and Halle Berry looks sexy again, when she played Sharon Stone. So this should be A+++++ Material, so if you think this remake is stupid, you are stupid, because this movie owns 5 stars.
Rating: Summary: Yabba-dabba-don't Review: This little piece of lunacy is pure dinosaur doo-doo. It is neither interesting nor funny, largely because of the horribly lame script. The cast is also lacking. Moranis is dreadful (as usual), and O'Donnell is even worse. How this unattractive, annoying and grotesque non-actress could have been cast as Betty is beyond comprehension. Stick with the cartoons and avoid this piece of junk. P.U.!
Rating: Summary: Surprise! Silly MacLachlan Review: This movie was a pleasant surprise, proving a great deal more amusing and less slapstick than I'd anticipated. Especially interesting was Kyle MacLachlan as a goofy pseudo-menace out to dupe Fred Flintstone. Liz Taylor was a nice touch, but nothing beat MacLachlan as a laughably greedy power monger with a subtle recurrent obsession (as in his other films)with his own feet.
Rating: Summary: Apalling! Review: This pathetic, no-brains-required movie was enough to warrant me, (The most tolerant of viewers) to leave the theater midway through this travesty! I would almost gladly sever my friendship with a colleague who was "kind" enough to escort me back to my seat! Grrrrr.... what did I ever do to you?!
Rating: Summary: This is not The Flinstones! Review: This was another reason to sell Happy Meals. I love the Flinstones, and have seen proabably all the episodes ever made, and this movie is NOT the way the Flinstones were meant to be. Contrary to its modern day portrayal as a kids show, it was not originally made for kids. It aired in prime time and was very much for adults. The comparison of the Flintstones as the early 60's "Simpsons" is pretty much accurate. There is little, if any of Fred's sarcastic, bitter humor, and none of his hilarious (and often doomed) schemes to be found in this film. These made up the centerpiece of the TV show. The casting of this film is also questionable: Rosie O' Donnell as Betty? Come on, Betty was a babe! (No offense meant!) Rick Moranis is a great comedic actor, but not a good Barney Rubble. I will admit that Goodman was about as good playing Fred as live action will ever get. I wont even mention the thin plot. Its so sad that such an original, great piece of animated television was trivialized like this. It probably turns people off from ever discovering how great the early years of this show really were. The Flinstones are an animated entity and will never be accurately translated into live action. One last thing: now I am absolutely convinced that Leonard Maltin is crazy...he disses great films and acclaimed masterpieces like Alien and The Shining, and yet he says above that THIS movie is good...um, ok Leonard, whatever.
Rating: Summary: Great movie for Flintstone-fanatics! Review: Throughout the entire movie I really enjoyed the scenery. The movie did a grat job of explaining how the "Flintstonian" world was, but one thing was missing--PLOT! I can't even count the number of times my mind strayed from the plot and focused on the effects. If you're already a Flintsone fan, you'll most likely recognize reference to the cartoon. If you're not a fan, you'll most likely fall asleep! I even hear a prequal is coming out-(The Flintstones: Viva Rock Vegas)
Rating: Summary: The Flinstones Review Review: Well let me tell you this movie may be a little old but is a great movie that all the family together must see. The movie is about Fred who has a best friend named barney and one day Fred gave to barney money so Barney and his wife could addopt a little boy. When they went to the addoption place barney and his wife thought there little boy was a monkey but the little monkey boy was for another family. Then bamm bamm came out from behind the lady that gave the babies that people addopt. After that Fred was ready to take a test at his job. It was hard for him to the test but by paying fred back barney changed his test for Fred's test so Fred had a new jod but also it wasn't a good jod. Well actually if you want to know more see the movie its great for childrens any age!!
Rating: Summary: Save the money, watch the cartoon Review: While not quite as horrible in translation to big screen as Popeye was, this is in same ballpark. If you are buying for the kids, they will appreciate the cartoon more than this garbage. In a day where creativity is seemingly nonexistent, there are some things that should be considered off limits to the Hollywood scum that wants to remake everything for the almighty dollar. THIS IS ABSOLUTE SACRILE GE! Buy the animated version (by the way, what happened to the concept of Betty being a babe as opposed to the pig they have playing her role?).
Rating: Summary: THE BEST cartoon-to-movie remake Review: yes, i know that the storyline wasn't very remarkable, but what this movie tried to do was to show us the real-life Flintstones and the real-life city of Bedrock, and i think that they succeeded in that. All the actors look like the cartoons(except for Rosie O'Donnell), especially John Goodman as Fred. Also, Bedrock looks just like in the cartoon, like does Fred's car and the Flintstones' home. If you've always watched the cartoon TV series, i'm sure you'll love this film. This movie gets an 8.
